I just assumed it would be the same as all their other RTS's campaigns, only released separately. I didn't think about it just being each races perspective and wasn't even really aware that that was an issue. I just assumed it was chronological when they said that there'd be some new additions to the other races in the Zerg and Protoss release, which wouldn't work if it was just a different perspective.

    Fail.

Unless other content will be accompanying the missions, the second two installments wouldn't cost half of the first. Either way, we better get a damn epic story out of all of these campaigns. The pay-per-month Bnet just sounds moronic, as I don't see what they could add that'd be worth paying for.

Where did this come from? It's the first time I've heard anyone accuse them of telling the same story from different perspectives. Either that or I've been under a rock the whole time. :(

I've heard that there'll be new content as well, just like in BroodWar and most other RTS expansions.

It's going to be epic. No question. Just think of how epic it has to be in order to need to be split across two additional expansions. Not to mention that each race will be played in a different and unique way... Long story short, it's going to be epic.

Where'd you here this? From what I've gathered, they originally said that there may be microtransactions, which people instantly assumed meant pay-to-play, among other things. They've never said it will be pay-per-month or anything. In fact, I think they might've officially denied it.

I'm sorry I forget the source; but I have read that you only pay for things like name or server changes.

I'm sorry. I need to vent here. It is unfair that this website gets an exclusive interview with Chris Sigaty when they can't even spell Jim Raynor correctly. WT-FREAKING-F!!!!!!!!!!!

Give the interviews to the sites that can cover the issues correctly and then magazines like this can pick up the stories from us, not vice versa!

    Holy Redundancy There, Batman.

Anyways. This is a concern of mine, to be sure. I understand why they're doing it, and if it's three full size games, HOLY CRAP. But on the other hand, it's more money out of MY pocket, and that is a helluva long time, even longer if they decide to upgrade the graphics.

yes, three full sized games but i don't even really play the campaign *hides under flame shield* because i really don't have an attention span for something that long. No matter how pretty sc2 looks, i can't be fully devoted to a RTS that long, 26-30 missions omfg.

and OMG, also, i'm not a huge sc player and i saw the Jim Rainer thing. I was ready to cry, or shoot the next person who came within 5 feet of me.

Anyway, I do think blizz is doing this themselves. ticks me the hell off though, even if it can be for the better. True, the campaign content all make them separate games, but I prefer better levels than to numerous ones. not saying they'll be bad, just that sometimes you don't need to eat three pizzas of different kinds, you can just stick them all together with the different toppings and make them a larger, better pizza with everything you want, even if it's not quite as much! quantity doens't make a game, quality does. And again, the quality is lookign wonderful, but too much of a good thing might be what i'm looking for here. I think that's the only time I've ever used that talkign about a game! Since i love longer games.

To quote our good Friend Yahtzee from the escapist "Q:...how can you...complain about too much story in a game? A: In the same way a hair dresser can complain when his car is filled with shampoo"

Yeah, woa. The trilogy I am all for, I love that idea. Give us a bigger game give the devs more time. I can cough up some extra change. But paying for Battle.net and theres no way...

  15. This is true. I posted this link before, but here..

    QFT

Then we would have less internet problems.. Kotaku even ran an article saying it was OFFICIAL that all battle.net games were pay-per-month :)

Well, I don't know where you've been (Lucky!) but this has been what just about everyone has been saying :D I still don't know which way it goes.

Kurai, if you're not really into the campaign, why do you have an issue with the campaign being split into three? If you don't intend to follow the whole story directly, then the game will be like any other, $50.

@neon: i'm not against it being split, just it being sold separately. and i was hoping to will myself to fight through SC2's campaign. Now, there is no way i could do that. especially with all the stuff i've been having to do lately. i'll prolly be less booked then, but still. It will take a helluva lot more time to get anything done, now.

and also, they are making it semi expansion like and introducing new units in each game, so i wouldn't get the full units. So, because of this, b.net will be incompatible when dealing with each separate game because they will all have different units. so that means no playing with people on b.net w/o the game.

@Kurai. Yeah, B.net will probably not allow people with Wings of Liberty to play with people with Heart of the Swarm etc. ...But just how is that different from any other game? That's how Warcraft 3 and Starcraft worked too, as far as I know. Noone complained about that.

I am all for the split, quality and quantity here. We're gonna have a long kick ass game, why complain? It'll cost more sure, but it won't be all at once, you'll have time to save up.

    Paying for B,net I don't like however.
