Beta Key Registration Opens!

As many of you know, I hate reporting news like this because it's part of that "Panic Theory." Please do not take this to mean that beta is ready for imminent release. All this does is register your BlizzCon 2008 keys for use in the StarCraft 2 beta. Please remember that once you register your keys they are non-transferable!

Hang on hang on...Let me get this straight. The people that went to Blizzcon last year can plonk the key they got on their beta card (which was for World of Warcraft) in there, and they can get in the Starcraft Beta?

If thats true i will be unbelievably gutted as i threw mine out after i heard it was for WoW. I am seriously praying i am wrong lol, unless my mate still has his, then it wouldnt be so bad.

does this mean that without a beta key you can't get starcraft 2's demo(beta)?

 

The demo and the beta are two different things. The beta precedes the demo. You need a key for the beta, but not for the demo.

Jon, any news on whether there will be keys given to fansites?

 

yeah i heard something about blizzard maybe giving keys out to there top fansites, and id say we are one of them.

for the top members and competitions, etc.

idk if this is true or not.

 

It is "unconfirmed" whether SC2Forums will be receiving beta keys.

Lol im going with the Battlereport released this week, Beta released on April 1st (11 year reunion of Starcraft I)

seems like a good time, and is on a holiday

hey all Ive got a question...I have a beta key but im due for a new computer pretty soon. If I register the beta on my current one, is there any way I can register it on my new comp???

Your registration is not bound to a specific PC as far as I know. Don't sweat it!

 

I'm about a seven hour drive away from where Blizzcon happens so... My parents wouldn't have driven me all the way there anyways. Also:

W000000000000000T Beta registration means, beta is nearing release which means Starcraft II is nearing its release!

 

yea this sucks because my comp isn't good enough for sc2 anyways but i'd certainly love to play the beta!

btw what happened to gaining minerals again?

Wow, this is awesome!, does this mean that when ppl finally are playing the beta that we how cant play it will get High-Res videoshots of their games? Like Blizzards videos.

 

this does not mean the beta has Started, it just means you can start registering your keys now, so that when it does start your key will be activated and you can start playing the beta.
