Blizzard has announced yet another way you can win StarCraft 2 beta keys, not to mention a few other goodies on the side. Blizzard is hosting a "Theme Park Contest." They're asking users to create a theme park based on themes from StarCraft, WarCraft, and Diablo franchises. Best of all, the winner (and a few runners-up) will receive two StarCraft beta keys and will be displayed at BlizzCon 2009. Also, the first place finisher will receive a Wacom Tablet valued at $1,000. Enter if you think you have what it takes! Who knows, maybe we'll be riding your Blizzad-theme rolled coaster in a few years! Contest Page Official Rules Source: Battle.net CREDIT DUE TO SERADIN!
This is ball ****!! Has the US just forgotten about Britain and ****ing Europ?? Nearly everone elce can join in and win BUT!!! no we cant!! ****in yanks ¬_¬ (I dont hate Amicans BTW just blizzard ATM!!) =] Plz dont hate me ppl ;]
Wow ... I never would have thought in my wildest dreams that this was news worthy ... Maybe I should start asking Joneagle_X
So, again, only a few countries can compete :-( Any way the rest of us could do it? Through the forum, perhaps? I won that Tshirt last time by entering the contest through our forum
Wow so basically Blizzard is making us WORK to get into the beta...LOL. Hopefully the general beta key lottery will be generous...
Yay, I guess I am SOME good at drawing. No way a highschooler can win next to professional artists though. ME WANT BETA KEY! (and 2, I'll probably give one to friend) Sometimes I want to move to the U.S., but at least this is offered in Canada too.
Seems like it will be based more on ideas than how good the drawings are, so that shouldn't be a problem. New Zealanders can enter, although i probably won't i might post some paint sketches later if i'm really bored.
I would do this...and probably will just for fun. sadly I live in Connecticut and are thus ineligible to participate in the contest. This happens in ever Blizz contest. WTF CT?
Read what Blizzard wrote about that contest : " Winning entries will be featured on Blizzard Entertainment websites around the world as well as at BlizzCon 2009, being held in Anaheim, California on August 21 and 22. " So if some entries will be shown at that moment, in August, just to win the SC2 beta keys, that means this game will be released after August, because Blizzard will need some other months to listen to those who got those keys and tried SC2 and to follow their suggestions. Do you think this game can come before January 2010 ? How many time the final game is released after giving beta keys for tests ?
Yeah actually for the I <3 SC contest we had a member from Brazil submit AND WIN. Took a while for me to get him his shirt but... yeah.
Haha! Such luck. Too bad he didn't win a beta key. It would be nice to have a forum member "informant" during the beta But, yeah, that's time and effort on top of your busy schedule so that's highly respectable
@Joneagle : that is an incredible offer to extend. Im truly impressed. In the spirit of things, I would like to extend the same offer. I have no intention of entering the contest myself, so if someone wants to submit outside of the eligible area(as I assume there is only one submission per person allowed?) send me an email. That will give at least 2 forum members a chance at a submission. If you want to trust me with your sc2 beta keys At any rate~. We should also take into consideration, the winning entries will be -showcased- in august. However, that doesn't necessarily mean the beta keys wont be issued in April or at least before august. I remain optimistic that the beta will begin before august. The other thing to consider is that there are often different phases of beta, perhaps these beta keys will allow access to the final rounds of testing. Maybe bnet stress testing or the likes. I wouldn't get too discouraged yet. I don't think even blizzard can justify NOT releasing this game right before christmas. It would be a silly decision not to push the release.
i am the most artisticly challenged person ever! so how can u get a beta key if your only appealing to one type of the public in comic drawings and theme park stuff. why not just a good ole bribe of 50$ do the trick ?
all the contests they put out require creativity which is not for me....so i will just have to wait for the game to release.
Haha I wonder how many people are actually willing to pay to get to play the beta. I don't know if this is appropriate discussion on the forum, if not I apologize. But honestly if A) Beta content exists and B) people are willing to pay for access to it..... that can be easily arranged. Even if the beta requires players to connect to blizzards network to participate... work-arounds exist. I would bet that someone releases such a thing for free anyway. And its just the beta, I see no moral dilemma.
