Beta Ends Soon

Awwww, really? And here we thought it would just go on forever. Not having to pay for StarCraft 2 was amazing. Heck, playing it since February 17th while the rest of the population drooled over it was also a great privilege. I guess all good things come to an end. But never fear, July 27th isn't all that far off, right? Also, Blizzard says there will be a final beta session in the weeks before launch. Anyway, here's the death knell straight from Blizzard's mouth. Too bad it wasn't posted on April 1st.

We’d like to let all of our StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty beta test participants know that the first phase of the beta test will be coming to an end in all regions on Monday, May 31. The beta test will be unavailable for several weeks while we make some hardware and software configuration changes in preparation for the final phase of the beta test and the release of the game. We plan to bring the beta test back online for a couple of weeks prior to the game’s launch to complete our testing. We’ll have more details to share about when this final beta-testing phase will begin at a later date.

We’d like to thank all of our beta-test participants for your enthusiasm, dedication, and valuable feedback during the beta test, and we look forward to hearing more of your thoughts on the StarCraft II beta test as the game’s July 27 launch approaches.

Don't forget to pre-order your copy which you can do to your left!

Hopefully we'll get about two more patches before the first beta phase ends.

I wonder what those hardware and software configuration changes could be?

Blizzard loves me so much. That's the last day of my summer. This way I won't have any distractions.

    THANK YOU BLIZZZARD!!

I don't understand why everyone is saying beta is coming to an end, this is merely a hiatus for us, we'll all be back in late June/early July to take in and bask in the new awesomeness before release.

My predictions: Database wipe = May 31st.

It was good to get in there and have fun with all the new techs..
I love it when your opponent says, I really hate voidrays :D

It'll be a sad day come May 31st... for atleast a few weeks, then it's back in for more action before the release...

    GAME ON!

Hopefully the hardware changes are to make the game less ugly, A wooden PC could run this on ultra, and yes I do have a beta key, and I do run it on ultra personally. 11 years and it looks a bit better than wc3 lol, fun game though.

I've had a beta key since March, but college internet blocks the Blizzard Downloader. I don't get back home (and to private internet) until the 27th.

looks like there might be room for just one more patch before the beta ends... seems like the balancing is nearly complete, no matter how much people complain =P

I would venture a guess that Blizz will impliment all those nifty new bnet2.0 features while the beta is down. I'm sure they wanna make sure that cross game communication is humming by release and I don't see how they'd connect it all without bringing the servers down for at least a day... probably a Tuesday... WoW players get it.
