    A keyboard like this:

Preferably something that has mechanical springs so there is a very defined "click" to it. Removing the unnecessary keys as shown in that picture is somewhat helpful - I personally remove the "FN" key on my laptop keyboard when I'm playing competitively.

Mouse... Anything that feels comfortable. If you're playing a surface that is shiny/reflective, a laser mouse could help. If not, an optical mouse should be fine.

Ultra-high dpi is not very important. Speed and accuracy are. I'd recommend getting a wired mouse because they can be (slightly) faster and you don't have to worry about low batteries.. something you won't want to have to worry about half way into a game. Pretty much any optical or laser mouse will have the accuracy necessary for SC2.

I've been using logitech keyboard and mice for a while. Microsoft's keyboards are good too - the simple, barebones ones.

Don't waste money on expensive gaming keyboards.. the macro keys are totally unnecessary.

There are actually alot of mice with hotkeys out there, but they are kind of more for WOW players and not SC players.

I really like the death adder, but for a good mouse with hotkeys, I would get the razer Naga.

mouse4you has some really good comparisons for a good starcraft 2 mouse. tells you the DPI and stuff.

Well with the new patch, hotkeys are now customizable.

Although, you would not need a mouse with TOO many buttons for an RTS. 4-5 buttons would be enough for me.

I stillhave the WoWGaming mouse with like 15 buttons; do you think that's overkill for SC even considering the new patch?

Aye, I'd love a good mouse too... One that both feels good as a grip and responds well..

i am using the razer naga, it's really useful for anyone playing sc2 i'd say as control grouping becomes a breeze. but i've heard some ppl had some issues with its lazer, i heard it does **** all on a glass tablet etc.. but i've got no complaints about it.
