In my opinion of course. Just me being pretentious about my awesome taste in music again. 1. Intimacy - Bloc Party A rather bold departure from their earlier albums. It's got A LOT more of a electro-dance sound to it, which can be both good and bad. The album starts off with Ares, which is frickin' MAD. In short, great album, and definitely bears checking out. 2. You, The Devil + Me - The Notwist A kinda dark electro mix, from the darkly disturbing On Planet Off, to the quiet, chill Where In This World, to the cheerful yet somehow melancholy sound of Boneless, this album has a sound for every mood. 3. if - Mindless Self Indulgence Um. It's MSI. Really, 'nuff said. 4. We Started Nothing - The Ting Tings The first 'happy' album on my list, this is the debut album from the Brit group, the Ting Tings. A duo, they make insanely catchy, poppy songs that get stuck in your head all day.
5. Knowle West Boy - Tricky Probably the only rap album I'll ever be proud to own, this is pretty much the peak of Tricky's work. It's an absolutely wonderful album, with Council Estate as it's most definite flagship song. 6. Original Soundtrack - Flight of the Conchords Ok, technically, it's the soundtrack to the HBO show of the same name, but this stuff is awesome. Just look 'em up on Youtube. The only reason that it's not higher is because it IS a soundtrack 7. Here We Stand - The Fratellis The sophomore album from the rowdy band out of Glasgow, it has a more refined sound than their last album. Unfortunately, this is actually a detriment. However, they kept enough of their earlier craziness to warrant a spot on this pointless list. 8. Made in the Dark - Hot Chip The third album from the electro band Hot Chip, it's got a sharper sound to it. With bizarre songs like Shake a Fist and Bendable Poseable, this is pretty high up on the 'Wha-?' list, but once you get used to their eccentric sound, it opens up to a rich, full sound.
9. Saturdays = Youth - M83 Kind of an interesting on. It's basically a tribute to the late 70's and early 80's, but not really. Lot's of drums and synth, with soft singing. Nice chill tunes. 10. Gods of the Earth - The Sword Obligatory power-metal-with-insane-amounts-of-norse-influence-with-a-generic-band-name album. If you like your metal with a clean voice, obscure references, and a heavy headbanging beat, go for it.
i've only heard of like, two of them O_O Might check some out though, you obviously enjoy your music...
There's pretty much a mix of everything in that list, except country and emo. I do however lean towards rock with electro threads.
It's not there cause it sucks. Not flat out sucks. But listen to, say, Master of Puppets or Load, then listen to Death Magnetic. It sucks.
Lol, I dont really like death metal. Mainly just rock, country, blues, pop, classical and jazz lol. I like many different varieties of music! Damn if only "1000 Stars" came out last year! But "Love Story" still came out last year I think...lol.
