As part of the news coverage during the recent press conference you might have read this article. If you havent read it I strongly advice you to do so as it will surely fill you with joy. Yes ladies and gentlemen - SCII replays will have the rewind feature! I cant believe how many times I had to rewatch the entire replay just because I missed few seconds both in SC and warcraft. And of course the in-game observing mechanics sound very juicy. First person view is no longer avalible only in pro-tours in korea but now even at your doorstep! The addition of previously mentioned resource statistics and graphical depicting of players economy and its uses will assure that even during quiet moments commentators have something to gossip about and theorycrafters will have an orgy. The only thing missing at the moment is some kind of direct video feed into the game to be able to see the opponent sweaty faces in real time
Wait, they took away First Person to the common man? Aw, I was REALLY looking forward to that *EDIT* Wait, after reading the portion about First Person, I don't see any mention of it only being available to the leagues.
You did not understand what I wrote, I was excited about being able to view common mortals in first person (and allow to watch people how much I suck).
OOhhh, I see what I did. "First person is no longer available only in Pro...." I put a comma after Available...MY BAD
I'd have to agree, although the rewind feature is probably the lowest one of the totum poll for me....The resource counter, First Person View, "show clicks of units selected"....gosh, I get all kinds of excited thinking of it.
Or learn off of the person who just wiped the floor with you. I'm really glad this game is going to be very newb friendly. I've been playing since a year or two after release. Though, it was never for a long period of time, VERY off and on. This will help me out a lot.
The way it was described, the first person camera will center on the most recent action by the player, not the window position, which is why it would be dizzying, and why it will probably be available in replays.
Ok it is confirmed, it is going to be part of replay. Now is it going to be avalible through observer in real time? And does the replay save information about the movement of the cursor as well? Anyways for me its more of a "cool" factor feature, I am not looking forward to get dizzy when watching koreans in actions.
In Aoe3 we did a lot of OBS with my clan, but we did it on custom (and unreliable) maps, an OBS feature as good as this one is golden, I am very happy with this feature. I cannot wait for the release. ^^ But FP was available with recs, but we didn't see the cursor. And omg, FP in OBS is absolutely stunning!
I wonder about the cursor being visible in obs/replays. It would be nice and helpful to watch for tips and tricks on things...but I am not sure how they will be able to do that.
