Battlecruiser vs Immortals

I was just wondering, since battlecruisers shoot 8-10 little beams instead of one major one, do they still activate the shield of Immortal or not?

 

The attack is probably still strong.

For a second I thought this thread was about Immortals verses Battlecruisers in head to head combat. You should change the title cuz i was tempted to flame before I read it again.

 

I have a hunch that the BC will win.

I think that is actually a really nice question to ask people that tried SC2 up to now.
Which attack is triggering that shield.

We know tank is, but how much damage is needed to get it triggered.
Baneling activates it?, lurker? ultra? BC? Carrier? Colossus?

 

The damage it takes for it to activate is 10 or more. All units with 10 or less damage will kinda counter Immortals.

 

I think it'd only be logical to assume that since the hardened shields reduce all damage to 10hp, all attacks above that trigger the shield. If that isn't the case then there is a small margin (between 10 and the shield triggering value) in which even with hardened shield researched, the Immortal receives more damage than it should, which is kind of unfair.

since it only does 8-10 damage per shot then I highly doubt it activates the shield.

 

Yeah, I agree with Ekulio. Its a bunch of smaller beams, so it probably wont activate the shield as a larger one beam would do

 

The old BC beam would, but not the new one.

 

It active the shield or not BC still own the Immo,and in battle i'm sure Immo is the last thing BC attacks

 

I remember that the battle-cruiser had an attack of 8*8 (or something like that) in the old Terran demovideo, so perhaps!?

I dont know if it can, But I think so, because in its Idle animation it turns its Canons skywards!

It isnt, the topic is about how the shield of the immortal reacts on a BC attack, not about if immortals can attack BC´s

 

Actually furrer it is a legitamate question this thread is about the battle between a Basttlecruiser and Immortal, even if the original post asked a more specific question.

Gforce, as far as I know furrer is correct the Immortal can't currently attack air units.
