Hey guys I was wondering, now knowing that those guys are game balancer and that it is their job to play and balance.... I doubt that they just play for fun, they must have some kind of structural plan to balance all unit. This game feels like they said "You go for main army stalker and I'll go for main army Marauder, then mix in support unit." If the game is rightly balance Marauder should win. If they don't then they balance Marauder and stalker so that Marauder are rightly balanced to effectively counter Stalkers. It's just a hypothesis, but these guys definitely have skills, the game stayed Marauder Vs Stalker for far too long to be a normal match-up. although it could have been the Protoss mistake not to adapt to the Terran strategy. They can easily take one great match out of all the work they do on balance to "battle report" it. What do you think: Friendly all out match Planned match for balance purpose Balance tester always plays friendly all out matches and balances from there. Note* Not planned on build order or the exact number of units, but planned on the general idea to balance that unit out. I vote for planned. What do you think?
Well I would like to think it wasn't, so thats what I'm going to go with. Then again I still don't know why the stalkers didn't get blink and why the player didn't get immortals. So I'm gonna have to go with c)
I think it was a friendly match, between two not-so-skilled players. (Seriously, why would a dev give up the opportunity to showcase Blink? I think the protoss player just wasn't thinking about it.) The real work won't begin until beta.
although at some points it does seem like the battle report was played for balencing purposes, it really did seem like a friendly match-up. although the protoss player did not do blink or colossus with back-up troops you probably wouldve seen that in a "balence game." i wish it couldve been longer, PLEASE ANOTHER ONE PLEASE! how about with zerg this time! -Zerks
i think he didnt get immortals because i heard marauders attacks negate immortal shields and do the 22 damage to mechanical. but no blink n stuff really made me wonder. anyways the matchup was a match that was taken on blizzcon 08 and they added a commentary.

There are lots of professional commentators all over the world, but I am one of the few people in the world right now that knows the game really well. I'm afraid you're stuck with me until we go Beta. Then the professionals can take over and I can just watch.=) I saw some concerns that this game wasn't "real." It is in fact a real game. We looked through a big list of games (two dozen or so) that had already been played (real games with 2 players trying to kill each other) and we picked the best ones. We showed some of these at Blizzcon and now we have this one up for everyone to see. By the very nature of how we capture the video for the game we had to watch it several times before we did the audio so it wasn't my first time seeing it (which is why sometimes I get ahead of myself), but it was a live game with real players when it was being played. Yes, Zealot charge really did finish training at that crucial moment. =) I don't know when the next one is coming. We have some things I want to get in and make look somewhat presentable before we fire up the next one, but I hope it's soon. " By the way, marauders don't negate immortal shields.
well i dont care who's playing and what is the purpose as long as the game gets balanced properly and gets released within the year hopefully summer time when i get my new uber pc
