Will our current battle.net names be used in SC2? or will there be a whole new set of servers set up when SC2 releases so that we can choose new names even if they were previously in use on b.net? just seeing if anyone out there knows.
Same question here, im not sure but i hope you can create accounts that are currently taken on b.net, provide a fresh start and new name for most of us. Hopefully the Sc2 servers allow you to have names such as Kerrigan and other sc2 names that i see diablo 2 players using....
yeah but if they do that, when will the first possible time be to get your IGN, will there be a mad rush on the release date? I am thinking they might just keep all the active b.net accounts, but I hope they start fresh, that way I can get the account name I have always wanted....maybe
blizzard has already told us that sc1 battle.net will still be up so im assuming that sc2 battle.net will have a complete different server, which needs you to make a new account.
yeah, and my last post i was saying no. But thats what i think. hey your a new member, welcome to the forums btw =]
I'll bet a million dollars that it will be a new Bnet server, so you'll have to recreate your account.
Since the current b.net for SC1 will work in parallel with the new b.net for SC2, you will need to create new accounts. I just hope they dump this whole gateway thing - it's totally useless and makes people register several times just to play the same game.
I agree with you kuvasc, the gateways were totally annoying, I imagine that they did it that way at the time because the technology they used to run b.net was not as sophisticated as our current net capabilities. I am hoping that they will have all the servers connected to each other so that we can play with anyone in the world no matter what server they connect to.
