Battle.net help needed

Hey guys,

Just to start off, I don't have a legal copy of Starcraft. But I still want to try to play Battle.net(I already have an account). Whenever I try to go into Battle.net on Starcraft, it says it needs to download new software(a patch), so I let it. Then it tries to install it, and fails every time. The failure message says:

This patch upgrades Brood War from version 1.16.0 to version 1.16.1.

Registry error loading key 'Starcraft\InstallPath'
The system cannot find the file specified.


RESULT: Patch failed"

Help would be appreciated

 

maybe you've installed sc in a strange location so that the patch can't find it?

 

Buy a legal copy.

Seriously, the entire Battle Chest is only twenty bucks. There's no reason you couldn't save up for a week or two to buy it.

 

We do not support troubleshooting of pirated products. You wanna play on Bnet, get a valid copy.
