Battle.net for Starcraft 2

What do you think Battle.net will be like for Starcraft 2? What do you think it will be like for all of Battle.net when Starcraft 2 is released? What features will we have on Battle.net with Starcraft 2?...

We shall discuss what Battle.net should be like for Starcraft 2 users.

 

??? Uuh... um... Create Game, Join Game, Quick Match and Chat?

 

I was hoping so; I hope it has the same basics found in WC3, like "Play Game". I like the whole thing about a random match, not joining a game.

 

Yes, random match is something so basic, yet so lacking in many multiplayer game systems. I'm sure they'll add tons of tidbits that we would never have thought of to make the game better and well just say "All hail Blizzard!" like we always do ;D.

 

Guys from Blizzard emphasized the point that they were gonna improve b.net so much in all the interviews. Really makes you wonder what's up their sleeves.

It's all the WC3 feature, but more.

If you really think about it, it's easy to think up a bunch of things that could apply to gameplay, but it's hard to think of stuff that might apply to battle.net. With them making such a big deal about it, I'm absolutely curious. But I can't even think of a single thing yet.

Pop-up adds? That sure would be a shocker, LOL. But really, nothing. Nothing at all.

 

I think that with the release of SC2, the origional Starcraft and Brood Wars will completely die... at least for a while.
Oh, and I'm hyped for the new Battle.net too - they've made it the primary focus of the new game, so it has to be good! =D

I think a good amount of old sc players will hate sc2, theres always people that will stick to the old stuff. I think it will be crowded still.

 

blizzard might cater to the way starcraft ended up being for the koreans. Make it an RTS that is a sport to watch.
(ea tried this with command and conquer 3: tiberium wars, but I dont need to tell you they failed miserably.)

nevertheless they had good ideas. Players could hop in games that are currently going on, and watch the best play. an in game commentator (assigned by popular vote) could draw with a red pen on the game to show players whats going on. Replays were broadcast after each game so that players could pick up some new ones.

Of course there will probably be some break throughs with the clan idea from warcraft that had everyone so excited.

 

has anybody heard anything about them starting to change for battlenet once Sc2 comes out? I like starcraft as much as the next guy but i dont want to have to pay for multiplayer

 

How ridiculous, offcourse not. Are you insane? Its no MMORPG.

 

Don't worry they won't, Blizzard is not stupid, they know how fans will react if they start charging.

 

yeah, and starcraft,warcraft and also starcraft2 will require alot of time to practice to become pro, blizzard woudnt make you pay for it.

 

Do you guys think they will add in mics on this so you can talk through mirco phones like on CS i rekon that would kick ass?

Considering that Blizzard did not flat out deny that they will be charging for Bnet leads me to believe that they are going to take the optional features approach. The basic services like ladder, chat, and custom games will remain free, but they might add some highly advanced features tailored towards professional gameplay that will be charged.

Or they could just be too terrified to reveal anything after WoW. God knows that community is brutal. ;D

If anyone has played warcraft III online, you know you have icons. I really hope that starcraft 2 will have icons in battle.net also. and percentages of each loss. instead of having your profile in a little box, it's another screen. just things like that to go for. like in starcraft brood war, i have no motive to win games. but with icons and required percentages for good clans and stuff, i would to my 110% each time.

theres no doubt that they will do so they said their basically revamping battle net entirely for SC2 so I dont see why they wouldnt

 

I'm sure they'll have some amazing incentives to win. Ranking is just the tip of the iceberg.
