Banned from Chat

Hey, uhh... I got banned from the chat last night (US Mountain time). I wasn't in the chat at the moment, and when i came back, I was banned. There was no explanation as to who banned me and why i was banned. I would like whoever banned me to send me a PM with an explanation. I don't want to make a big fuss of this. If the server banned me for some reason, I would like to know why.

 

Maybe you are just way to cool for these chat rooms...
But it was probably just some kind of error, I would just pm scforums if I were you. :good:

To be Honest, Im sure it was because you are in chat most of the day, without being online. Didnt you make chat your frontpage/something?

 

chat is on my homepage, yes.

but 80% of the time im on it, no1 is there.

so i assume 80% of the time that im not on it, no1 is there.

10% of the remaining time, the ppl there are not talking or are afk.


i am active in the chat 50% of the time im logged in. 45% of that other 50% is sleep and school.

i will not be on it at all this weekend. i will be camping.

Let me share something. Not trying to be rude, just spreading facts.

The way the chatroom functions.....When no one's in it, it's not just dormant, it's passive. It doesn't exist. But the moment someone enters it, it thus begins to exist, and starts putting a strain on the server. Then, from there, the more people in it, the more it pressures the server, till about twenty to twenty five, where it will then crash the server.

So. When you just sit there and lurk in the chatroom, you're putting a certain amount of unnecessary strain on the server.

LoL, 26 people will crash the server ? On what server this site is running? So you mean if 26 people enters chat room it will be something like DDOS attack? What harmfull does Eatme or any other member if he just like to be on chat room all the time? It's users choice, not abusing. It's like a treating users like small children - "Play computer only 2 hours per day, it will work longer then" - "But mum, it's holidays now" - "You will go to your grandmother tomorrow!"

 

Because more load = more cost. People loitering in the chat room has the potential to cost our admin more money.

 

I think Eatme hasnt learnt his lesson....

 

I have been banned as well, and I only ever used the chatroom 3 or 4 times
So I don't think there is a lesson to be learned for me, but I am still banned
Anyone have an explanation?

 

why'd you have to bring this back up? now they are gonna get angry at me for loitering again...

anywho, im pretty sure it was a moderator having some fun and forgot to make amends.

 

Lol.... the server will not crash from 25-26 users. More like a couple hundred.

But anyway, it's still not all that great of an idea to just sit in there if no one is in there. Set up a chat and get ppl to come talk.

 

yeah praetor bans people on it beause some random member tells him so -.- Not cool praetor NOT cool!

Jon, the admin specifically SAID that 25+ members have the potential to fritz the server out.

Nikzad, I've never seen you in the chatroom, so it wasn't me. Idk what the issue is. Normally people just refresh the page.

Corey, I've only banned EMR, and that was once. Every other time is a kick.
