    The best thing about this was that I hadn't heard the original song before listening to this and when I heard it on the radio recently I couldn't help but associate it with banelings.

    That worked a different way for me... I didn't know about the song either and hearing banelings without knowing it's a parody of a known song, I completely failed to find something funny there... Clicked on a link of this video like 5 times without knowing and only the last time did I manage to watch it till the end :p Not my style of music and not knowing the reference it had completely fail results in amusing me :p
