I had an idea, what if you could put banelings into an overlord and launch them at the enemy.

Could Att air and ground, would have slightly less damge, think about a bunch of overlords coming in and basicly acting like the Protoss shuttle/reaver combo, except you have to leave and reload..

The Zerg have already taken one of the Protoss abilitys (nural parisite/mind control is really close to the same)
So why not add one more mech, it could also add a new strat to the use of 2 very abundent units.

We've got that. It's called loading and unloading units.

I was meaning that it would turn overlords into reavers, but imstead of making reavers you load up banelings and Shoot them not drop them.

But it serves the exact same purpose as dropping Banelings. All this mechanic would do is encourage lazy micro, which means more sh*tty players

Reavers are gigantic crawling factories that produce highly advanced explosives. Overlords are flying meatballs dedicated to generating control points, transport units, produce Creep and detecting cloacked enemy forces.

I really don't see why they suddenly should get offensive capabilities. It already has quite a lot of functions, and Banelings aren't exactly projectiles either. :/

I would rather see the Overseer make use of his eyes than the overlord doing suicidal missions. Landmine banelings are enough mechanic for the zerg to get and if we are looking for an aerial harassment, the mutalisks by far has never failed to do so. With the addition of siege units like the Broodlord and Lurker, I think the potential for zerg has improved better.

mutas will only be slightly affective until great numbers are achieved now since they can't stack, at least not to the degree like they used to be able to. And what are you saying the overseer needs? Like a com-sat scan? Would be odd, is changling still any good?

Maybe the changling could be an air unit around 40 HP like the observer, has like a sight range of 2 but the overseer can see a liner line straight straight to it, but it's imovable. So you could set the changling on one side of the base and overseer on the other side, but maybe it should drain the energy (like 5 a sec) so Zerg don't get unlimited free scouting.

Or maybe the overseers could have an abiltiy that would raise them into the sky so that only ata units can attack it and it gets more sight but can't move.

Except if you mess around with the map editor, where you can have spore colonies launching banelings against ground targets.

I'd like to see a UMS map where infestors can launch various unit types :)

i think ima have a lot of fun in the map editer, like ghosts shooting nukes and every ultralisk attack maybe a baneling will explode on the unit.

random stuff that causes cluter and explosions (not to mention lag)

and what about the overseer idea?
