http://www.mmo-champion.com/news-2/celestial-steed-and-lil'xt-to-be-sold-in-the-blizzard-store/ Freaking epic fail to make the most mount ever able to be bought in the store. For real money, that is. What's next? Gear? XP Boosts? Gold? It's as some said on mmo champion already: activision is turning wow into maplestory. Disgusting. The Cataclysm expansion had better have some epic new mount designs, and absolutely nothing you can buy to improve you char's stats in any way. If they ever do such a thing, I'm out. Like, right away. Hehe, found the best QQ so far:
meh, as long as they keep it out of the gameplay i don't really mind. Other people make plenty of real money selling WoW vanity items, Blizz just wanted in
Haha, true. Just saw a couple of the horses in dala. They make an extremely loud wooshing sound for spectral stuff. It annoyed me. And from the looks of them, I actually couldn't care less about having one. ^^ Edit: some onyxian drake popped up and powned me time lost. >_>
Blizz said countless times they'll be staying away from paid ingame content that changes gameplay in any way. For now they've been doing pets.. and given their enormous success, its logical they'd move to the next step which is mounts. Don't be surprised if they start selling things like costumes, special on-use items with funny effects (like some kind of beer that made you fart). Hell, even flying mounts for your pets! how awesome would that be xD
flying mounts for pets does sound awesome yes. Not to mention banners, tabards and those funny paths from the TCG. Or even armor reskins. The money-making potential is endless.
I honestly don't think Blizzard cares about making WoW better. They are at a point where the game is good enough to keep people coming back, and now they are just trying to make more money off of it. This may or may not be a good thing. WoW could very well be funding their next game, or they could just be raking in Money.
If somebody gave you 20$ for you to spend on this mount, would you honestly do it? not saying this to be all like, noo way its a waste of money etc. But think about it, this mount screams to everybody who sees you online: "I PAID FOR AN INGAME ITEM, WHICH COSTS ABOUT HALF THE PRICE OF THE GAME ITSELF"
No, i would not pay for this item, i could buy a 40k blister with that. Anyway with the way Activision is going, its going to cave in on itself for making the worst decisions ever. And when it finally does, i shall laugh maniacly as I watch it burn to the ground under the wake of its own stupidity.
Meanwhile in dalaran: *flocks of shiny flying horses* Try to show off when 6533427 others have the exact same thing.
gl & hf But hey, I wouldn't even mind a buyable xp boost if only it meant lower subscriptions costs. Not such chance though >.>
Lol, yahoo games sucks ***. They review this stuff from a non-gamer point of view. I find that laughable. They're right about it not being worth $25, though. Reminds me of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMQ2ApZTuoo The whole show is hilarious, epic, and teaches people a lesson, but this is one of the best episodes in my opinion.
