Now you don't have to watch the film, i'll give you the run-down of what happened but there was one recurring problem I need help with.

It was a ZvT (im zerg) and he went thors and marines mainly. I went heavy roach and it countered fairly good but everytime I wanted to push into his base or expansion he would have a planetary fortress and heal it with the scv's (completely unfair imo).

My big question is how can I kill a planetary fortress with out going hive tech? (I believe it is a complete waste of resources)

Mass roaches did alright but failed alot of the time. I ended making ultras but he then made bc's and at that point the ultras took so much gas I couldn't produce many hydras. Also brood lords didn't seem plausible because he had many vikings around the map and (I am guessing) he could have out healed my attack damage.

Now for anyone that is in a giving mood, watches the replay and wants to throw in some pointers, I love you. If not no big deal but please answer the question above (unless someone already did).

There were two things I saw that I needed to work on after I watched it and that was I should have built either muta's or corrupters to kill his vikings/drop ships and I needed to react better to medivac drops.
One last thing it is really hard for me to micro because I only get 6-7 fps (awful I know) and there is a half second delay on any clicks I do with the mouse.

wow thanks for posting that... that was funny

kinda newbish... but it was an epic finish nice!

The fortress is tough to kill with mass SCV's healing it. But when u attacked his fortress at his 1st
expansion, his base was wide open. YOu could have just ran past it right to his original command
center & just wiped out his SCV's. You have to out dps his SCV repairs, and then you will take heavy
    damage while doing it.

I would have liked to have seen his battlecruisers with upgrades & the cannon. See what kind of difference
it would have made. I'm convinced after watching you replay, that battlecruisers are useless unless they
are upgraded. IF he is doing like 10 a shot instead of 8 I think that would have had a big impact. Cause
he fired the most battlecruiser shots I've ever seen. Plus the cannon would have been 1 shotting your hydra's
and queens and he would have been able to keep all of them alive I think.

I really don't know how to respond. It would take awhile to list all your mistakes. Your opponent made even
more mistakes. But thats okay. This game is more fun in the bronze league. That game looked awesome
I guess if I would make 1 recommendation, it would be get some air units. Anything! A bunch of muta's
would have helped so much their. As a terrain player I think muta's are the best unit in the game. They
can attack land/air, their super cheap & fast. Such a pain to deal with

Glad you enjoyed it, the ending is quite a nail biter, and ya it wasn't high level play (silver league) but it was fun. The guy actually turned out to be really cool and we ended doing some 2v2s and going gold =D

As for mutas I am typically against them just because they are so micro intensive but they worked fairly well for me today so I might start using them more. I really should have went muta's to get that base in the corner, that one was very difficult for me.

Not watched the replay yet, but IMHO if someone is relying on mass SUV to keep a PF alive, then they clearly need to go. Mutas are the simplist way to kill lots of SUVs, since there attack bounce off several targets.

Also if a terran player really turtled up, its sometimes wiser not to attack that postion at all. Terrans want you to attack there defences, becuse thats there races strong suit. Also the way I look at it more PF mean less mules and sensor sweeps, which means his ablity to detect stuff is more limited. Heck if he's got PF everywere and not had the wisdom to build any ravens, it means infestors are going to have a far easier time causing havok with infested marines from underground... so play sabator till he runs out of resources and tries to go a new base up.

Then hit the new base with your real army! :D

I find if they go PF at all their expansions and mech build vs me as zerg. Ill usually just choke them out while they screw themselves 2basing/3basing. Like the other guy said if you cant for sure kill it dont waste forces on it.

Your other choice is to magic box mutas and just snipe down those workers and leave the fortress alone.

I bet you that I have an SC1 replay that will blow your mind out to the farthest reaches of the Mathiverse.
Mabye. I'll judge after I watch your rep.

Yup. My opinion that my rep is cooler still holds >=d
    Although not as long >.>

But still, that was a cool game :p
