There's an option on the bottom of the page when you're making the thread asking if you wanna add a poll...

Mine range from ~65-90 depending on how long the game is and how aggressive I am

Mine is 80-90. I'm more than happy with that (especially because I do reach 300 during battles), I just need to hone my attention on the game. I need to remember to spend my income and learn when to pause drone production. So you know, basic stuff

ps if you really can't create a poll on your own, you can ask a mod describing what choices you want specifically... just don't PM me because I won't be on for about a week

Mine is about 70 in 1v1. Frequently beat 2000+ diamonds that have APMs over 140.

    APM isn't that important.

Indeed... Anything above 40-50 gets everything done... It's also a measure of aggression more than anything else, since if you play more defensively and don't drop all over the place, then you don't need that many actions to perform...

Plus you get the fluffers, folks who send every command 20 times.

I used to think of them similarly but believe it or not, it's easier to give accurate commands like that. Maybe it's got something to do with (me) not noticing the cursor in the hectic situation right away and the green markers help orientation (similar to the built-in feature of Windows). Either way, I feel more confident about my command of the game when I give a command multiple times. I've actually tried forcing myself to only issue it once and it felt odd, as if something was missing.

    yeah i agree with kuvasz
when i attack-move i usually spam it like 5-10 times just to make sure everything goes the way it should
or when i move an overlord or drone to scout.. i also spam the command a couple of times.. i dunno why it just feels better XD

Spamming the move/attack commands helps keep your environmental awareness up...

Its pretty easy to apm spam within the first 3minutes and maintain an average of over 150apm after the entire game. Like many said before anything over 100 average is overkill anyway.

IMO their is Apm then productive apm. Its all cool to have a high apm, but if that apm aint doing anything why go through the motions.

I must be terrible because mine is only about 25. However, I bet it would be higher if had a decent framerate, as having a very low framerate does limit the amount of commands I can make.

Most annoying example is when I'm using warpgates, and if I shift-spawn too many units too fast, my laptop makes a really loud beeping sound, basically saying "Stop holding down the shift key!!!!"

I feel like such a noob and I am but mines around 30 to 40. I actually think it doesn't matter that much since I've faced many players with a low APM and lost to them.

Regarding APM, keep in mind that the less you attack and scout the less APM you will have/need. Macroing only takes ~25 APM the rest are other stuff you do like troop and scout movement, attacking and microing etc... If you generally play defensively it's natural that your APM will be low.

APM is in no way any kind of measure of skill, you shouldn't feel bad for not having it high...

i was thinking about this post yesterday. I try to improve my APM, which at the moment is something like 50-65.
I do (trying to improve) as higher APM means for me capacity to control more issues at the same time and greater performance.
I'm platinium team player. As I never APM spam I understand that higher APM should mean higher hability in game but I can see from this poll that lot of people in lower leagues have lot more APM than me.

so i'm guessing people do too much APM-SPAM? (have seen sometimes in replays) and ... why? is there a reason or so they like to see higher numbers in their replays?ç

Also i dont play 1vs1 cause I like to make team strategies... does the thing change so much in 1vs1? I cant think I would do more things on solo than i do on team ...

Since I switched to terran my average has increased from about 50 to 70.

Im not sure but on average I think zerg require the most APM, followed by terran and protoss require the least apm.

It's not about race but about how agressive you are with the race...

I think that the "X requires more/less APM than Y" proposition is incorrect. I think that different races have different styles. When the race has faster units(like mutas or lings) you get to give move commands faster, when a race has slower units(like zealots/sentries) you get to give those move commands slower...
If you are very aggressive early, then you will attack in addition to macroing up, so you will get more apm eventually. If you just stay and macro up while only scouting here and there you'll only use as much apm as needed for your macro and will only spike up when you attack or defend...

A very aggressive player playing against another very aggressive player(be that aggression in attacks or harassment or whatever) will lead to both having high amounts of APM...

It's just not a function of 1 thing...
