    Just figured i would poke those of you who are interested in the direction of this new movie;

    Let me be the first to elaborate - THIS ISNT the nickelodian toon, this is the work of James Cameron, the man behind many of the terminators, aliens, titanic, etc, he has been working on a technological 'masterpiece'; Avatar! Its rather hard to explain but Avatar in its majority was filmed using newly developed 3D virtual cameras, which would produce 3D images that resemble a holograph, it takes advantage of CGI and a generation of special effects that are currently un dreamed of in cinema, and all forms of media for that matter.

    Its a Sci-fi, but i wont go into details on the plot - go to wikipedia for more info, the important part here is that its got a good overlying story, with apparently brilliant actor preformances combined with a central theme of immersing the viewer through the new technology. The concept of Avatar is very much about letting go of the confines of your body, and experiencing the world through a different set of eyes.
    Some quotes on its effects from press;

    Reactions to a 12 minute clip (purely first person, as through the eyes of a Na'vi) with intent to utterly immerse the audience - said to be the moneyshot of the movie;

    'when you are running through the jungle of Pandora and their tails are moving in front of your face, your brain will melt.'

    Other reactions..;

    'I'm still feeling the after effects of this jaw-dropping experience.'

    'And it took my breath away. I thought--just like you guys--that I've seen it all with Gollum, or The Hulk, but Cameron has done it again. '

    One article of reactions: http://www.comingsoon.net/news/avatarnews.php?id=56535

    Its currently got an insanely large budget of $350million, and took 9 years for them to develop the camera technology specifically for use in this movie. No trailer has been released, 8 trailers were turned down by cameron the director as he deemed them not good enough, while only concept art is avalible online.. As you can imagine this has got so much hype no1 knows what to expect, press details on clips are amazingly good... Suppose i'll have to wait and see :(.

    To be very honest: I think this movie sucks already. Crappy story, and those multi-million dollar cgi creatures still look crappy. The creators of this movie go for extremely realistic animation, but they pick blue skin color. Fools, blue never looks real, since there aren't any real blue creatures. Maybe a few weird insects, but nothing big enough to really notice.

    Lmao. Should have seen that coming.
    As for those techy thingies they used: I don't really care. As long as it looks good.

    Still, I'll take a look when they finally have some decent trailers. Kinda curious to see what's so different. Cgi movies are suffering from what I like to call the "unreal engine problem". Every time it's released, the first 200 games to be made with it all look the same. Cgi movies are having that problem as well. Except for Wall-E, but that was a technological masterpiece.
