I've been looking around for more information on the submergable Supply Depots but I can't seem to find it.

What I want to know is, what happens when a player wants, and tries, to destroy the Supply Depot when it's submerged? I can understand how ranged attacks would work against it, but how do melee attacks work? Do all of the units crowd around the edge attacking the ground? Or can they stand on top of it and attack as well? The only problem with standing on top is that when it's destroyed, then the units are in the middle of an explosion. Is it even possible for submerged depots to be attacked in melee? Or do they have to be attacked by ranged or AoE/splash damage?

Anyone know or have any other ideas???

Good question. I never thought of that. But i think it's possible to attack submerged supply depots with malee attacks. I don't know will the units gather around the edge or they will stand on top of it.

Does anyone else know how it happens? Or have any ideas on how it might happen? I don't think that if you could attack while standing on it then the units get damaged/killed in the explosion, because the explosion from normal buildings don't injure any units, but it wouldn't look to good if you have to have a whole lot of Zerglings or something just standing in a perfect box around it. Any thoughts?

i believe it will be attackable, but if not,it still makes sense.you shouldn't be able to hit something underground.but balance has greater powers than one can imagine,so i wouldn't worry...

It would look funny to see Marines shooting straight down.

Then the Depot comes up, throwing him 50 feet in the air.

I can understand ranged units attacking them, but I'm talking about melee units. Because if you can walk over them if they're submerged, can you attack them while standing on top of it? Maybe it'll work like how air units attack buildings... As long at it's in range, even if they're on top of it, they can attack it. It just seems odd that you can be standing on top of a building that's burning down and about to explode, and not get injured.

hey,it is as weird as seeing how a Battlecruiser, with it's full crew and stuff, takes the same "food" amount necessary for 6 marines XD

there's nothing weird enough that balance can't handle ^^

    it certainly would be XD

i believe melee units will stay on the side of the depots, and attack them normally, maybe just with some different attack animation, but would otherwise be attackable like any other building...
