    You could be right, but what is it doing on the other end of the base (zealots are coming from the left side) between 2 bunkers and a squad of marines.

    Anyways, you have a sharp sight :)

    I noticed this awhile ago too.
    But I came to a conclusion that it may just be an explosion.

    When you look at the video, you will see some explosions that look similiar to that.
    But who knows, maybe that could be an Archon.
    I hope Archon still remains in SC2, because they were one of the coolest looking unit in SC1.

    Yeah, it doesn't really look like an archon, unless its evolving or whatever but why now?

    Well, it looks like it has those hanging things it has in the dark archon artwork from brood war. And remember, sc changed from sprites to nice 3d graphics, I bet they will look a bit different.

    Lol, this is the third consecutive thread I run into that has a screenshot of something "special" as the main focus. :D

    its not an archon, its an explosion; the marines arent firing at it, and theres metal pieces flying out of it
    i think its one of those little prottoss plane thingys, you can see them being fired at in the picture

    I still can't say for sure it is or isn't. There's no way the Protoss are going to completely discard the spiritual superpowers they attained in Starcraft 1; it's just a question of - is THIS the form it will take?
    Or will we see it later?

    You've gotta remember that the Protoss are pretty crippled. The lost the bulk of their population when the Zerg overran Aiur and they haven't really recovered. The Dark Templar make up the majority of their population now so I'd be more surprised to lose the Dark Archon.

    Although we have seen two High Templar in the artwork trailer so I don't see why they should give up their Archon ability!

    maybe becuase they know now that there arnt many left, and if they all become archons, who will teach the old ways?

    Archons are a last resort for all the high templars, they don't it for fun you know. So when there is need for an archon that means that the high templar probably would have died anyway. They don't think about themselves or teaching, they think about the fact that their of better use as a archon than dead.
