I'm going for the medium co-op/custom achievements but im getting bored off the same tactic game in game out can anyone tell me a fun/succesful tactic, il be gratefull for any replys
baneling bust. 400 banelings. mass queen mass High templar mass any kool caster unit offensive spine crawlers against non zerg
I've been wanting to try a mass Overseer turtle strat to see how long I can slow down the game with contaminate in a game where the opponent doesn't get quick anti-air. I'm sure they'd eventually tower around it or something but I think it would be pretty hilarious to do it, maybe while massing something stupid that doesn't take gase, like Queens or spine crawlers. And mass Queen/Spine Crawler + Infestors is always fun, if not always successful.
1 Ultra with queens. Make him a hero and keep healing it. See how many kills it can get Infest a probe, and win with a protoss/zerg force.
Ever tried massing fully upgraded zerglings =D ? In StarCraft BroodWar there was this guy who did just that and filled half the map with zerglings and had like 6 hatcheries. Man that was fun to watch =P He won the match by the way =)
i remeber massing speedlings with all the upgrades possible, i was very new to zerg at the time, was agasint terran who build about 20 siege tanks, that match was hilarious.
mass zerglings will rip mass tanks to shreds with the new patch, whenever it decides to get here. If you're armor upgrade is 1 ahead of his tank attack upgrade, he can't 1shot your lings. mass lings is extremely viable against many strategies. the problem comes when he gets colosi, ultras, hellions to defend his tanks, any air.... but before that, you can rock ****. also take a look at the patrol pathing trick vs terran walloffs.
Fully upgraded zerglings are prety cost effective in most games I've found. While ultralists and hydralist are really sweet, nothing quiet causes a smile on my face as my speed/crackling rip apart units and structures many times there own build cost before my oppoment can react!
mass ravens, auto turrets + pdd is great fun. or you can try to see how many motherships you can crank out. or even stranger still would be trying to win with just infested terran. or a wave of banelings juuust big enough to kill everything they have. or, back to terran, you can try mass hellions, having a ton of units move that fast must be nice.
Use invisible ground units (eg, dark templars or ghosts) and make them circle the enemy and hold position, or make a wall of them at the entrance to your base and tell them to hold position.
No. This is not how weapons/armor upgrades work. Weapon upgrades increase damage by 10%, while each armor point reduces incoming damage by 1. So a Siege Tank with 1+wep (which I guess will result in 4+ damage) will be able to one-shot Zerglings with 3+ armor (39 damage -3 = 36. Zergling hp is 35). So as long as you give your tanks an upgrade they'll be able to mince Zerglings just as easily as before.
A few days ago I saw in youtube a Planetary Fortress rush... to be hones I don't see that succeeding much, but it is hilarious
No offense but if you say "this is how it works" you should know what you are talking about. Upgrades to defense work the way you said. Upgrades to attacks do not. While I think there might be a single unit in sc2 that gains a 10% upgrade to damage (hellion mabye? before infernal anyway) the vast majority do not. Weapon upgrades provide a set +X to damage for each individual unit type. For zerglings, and marines that set bonus is +1 per hit A zergling does 5 damage per hit, if you upgrade it to a plus one its 6 damage. thats a 20% increase, not 10% A marine on the other hand does 6 base damage, once again +1 weapons gives him a damage of 7, thats 16.67% damage increase. Anyway, almost all attack upgrades raise the overall damage by more then 10%, especially since the higher damage units gain more then +1, I think the siege tank for example gains 5 damage per tier.
WHOOPS, I forgot why I checked this thread lol. RAVEN MADNESS! This is actually a strategy thats effective against players as well as AI's.... mostly because players have no clue what to do against it. You get 10-12 Ravens together, with close to max energy. You send them to the enemies base, and start dropping turrets in any open space by their mineral line. The enemy tries to chase your ravens away with either his army, or a dozen or so vikings/phoenix/mutas. Fly over your turret mass, and drop 3-4 point defense drones, followed by 3 hunter seekers into his air mass, or army Laugh maniacally as your pd drones zap any and ALL incoming fire, while your turrets reduce whatever scraps of his army remain after being obliterated by seekers to bloody gobbets. Proceed to drop more turrets all over his base, and watch them futilely produce units trying to get rid of the 20+ turrets you have in their base.
Lift your CC and fly it behind their base then type something like... "Syntax Error 476: Player ??? failed to load the map." (Press enter then type real fast..) "??? has left the game." xD works every so often. Be careful though. -__- Dropped 90 ranks one time from it failing.
