Blizzard are taking SC2 so slow and patching the worst things...

What the **** moment when Blizzard patches losses to be hidden from everyone's view, what the hell is that for?

People with 100 wins to 90 losses can be above a person with 10 wins to 0 losses on the ladder, it's pretty sad.

So many rants that go unranted but are easily seen..

You literally, CANT see the time during a SC2 battle, nor whisper someone not on your friends list. It's pathetic.

im not really that unsatisfied about starcraft 2 at the moment.. well at the start of 2011 i really wasn't too happy about it but i was patient and now it seems fine.
The only thing i hate about starcraft 2 right now is that it lags so ****ing much on my computer, so untill i get a new computer i probably wont be playing Sc2

I really dont like that you can see the losses. See someone with 100 wins is only impressive when they have 50 losses not 300. But now you will never know. It there any way you can view your own win loss ratio ?

    "thoroughly"?
Don't be stupid. How can one be thoroughly dissatisfied and on these forums?

Actually I'm pretty happy with how things are going. Blizzard has already shown how much they care about their games by listening to their fans. They included chat channels for us. Furthermore, they even created the public test realms (PTR) to show us that they are balancing the game as much possible. Balance is always an uphill task.

I think the only thing that I'm unhappy about is that Blizzard has yet to implement clan creation T^T

One can be on this forum in 2007 onwards?

You can't see your own losses, or anyone else except the highest league (200people) -_-

The chat channels now are ****ing bad. It's as if they reverted back to an older version of battle.net that has 25% or less of the features than Starcraft 1 had.

I'd rather play a game where the UI gets corrected before the game turns 1... :|

I wanted to junk this but then decided to adress OP's foolish points.
Losses were hidden to encourage activity. There were too many inactive accounts and a lot were because people were concerned about their win/loss ratios. I was too - being below 50% felt quite bad. Be glad you've never felt that.

As for a 100-90 person being above a 10-0 person, it makes perfect sense. You can only achieve a 10-0 record if your MMR is too erratic (because of the very few games played b.net couldn't define your skills well enough yet) and/or because you got lucky and you were (slightly) favoured in every one of those games (or your opponents were drunk/tired/etc.).

Rants unranted but easily seen? Maybe because they're logical balance concerns that were presented in a reasonable way by competent players. These get noticed. Tantrums do not.

I didn't even get the not being able to see the time during a battle part and the messaging system is fine. I can't imagine any scenario where I'd want to message someone not on my friend list.

    More thought, fewer rants.

ps you see ratios for masters and grandmasters, so a lot more people's than 200... get your facts right

You actually can message anyone who's name you've seen somewhere...
The guy you played on any of your recent matches by right clicking ont heir profile and select "chat" or anyone in any of the chatchannels by doing the same.

I also think that the win/lose shown should be optional and not forced cause some people(me included) would like to be able to monitor their win/lose ratio whatever it's state :p

Okay, thx guys for addressing OP so i with my lazy arse dont have to.

    Look, Mr/Ms. Inside Sin.

If you are indeed thoroughly dissatisfied, you would not try to incite movement against starcraft 2 because you would have lost all hope (assuming as dissatisfaction + satisfaction = 100%, with hope being a subgroup of satisfaction).
My logic works because when one hopes, one must have a reason to hope. That reason is, rationally, a good trait of an object. With good traits come satisfaction, and "thorough dissatisfaction" can only possibly come from absolute zero good traits, and thus absolute zero reason to hope. Unless your mental state is adjective form of my name (dunno whats that called in formal grammar), then this argument should apply to you, and unless you're being stupid/are stupid, you should understand the validity of my argument and stupidity of your post.

If you wished, not to change starcraft 2, but rather save others from the horrors of starcraft 2, then you are so stupid it is actually funny. Not only "to each his own", but also the way you phrased your posts implied that you wanted to change starcraft 2 for the better.

Encourage activity is fine and all, when it just deconstructs the entire point of "League" matches.. it's pretty pointless.

No, I'd say someone who has been selected in Plat, gets 10 wins straight, then another 10 in diamond is the same as 100/80 wins to losses. 50 > 50, 40 > 40

Oh trust me, my thoughts are rants, but there is a point in all these rants, if the game actually contained Battle.net 2.0 instead of this useless crap that is "supposed" to make it easier, but actually depletes some options is B.net 2?

There's no possible way to use functions like: /time, /stats, /whisper, /friends, etc. all the basic needs to actually BE useful whilst in a game and not locked in a solid state of isolation between the game, sure you are focusing on the most, but it takes literally nothing to type these as apposed to the current methods in SC2. There are huge uses for whispering people outside your friends list or even pending friends list. It's childs play right now.

I thought it was for Grandmaster only, anyway, that's still roughly 2% of the total community. Dumbest idea.

No, whilst I'm playing a ladder, I can't quickly: Add a friend, message a friend or whisper someone in the current game (can't even do that last one)

Win loss idea is pathetic, Blizzard are trying to turn the game into something only 12 year olds play.

Then these 12 year olds sure know how to play.

What was the indended purpose of league play? Because apart from having fun without friends and with a pseudo sense of progress, I don't know.
Here's proof you're nitpicking: the things you mention after Stir's quote you can do after the game. By 'can' I not only mean you are able to do it but also that you lose nothing by waiting until after the game. Moreover, if you could do all that during a game, a lot more people would want to pause for these silly reasons. It's like text message on your mobile - do you feel the urge to immediately check what they texted you or that you have to text someone (back) right there and then? If yes, you need help. Just saying.

Then you don't know how matchmaking works. Again, check your facts.
If you want to be useful then why start a game? And it's not just about the effort of typing but what you'd win by typing those. I'm not familiar with those commands but if they do what I think they do then indeed you are nitpicking. Maybe SC2 should also be able to defragment your drive with T P and Z methods? Like the Z would group all the smaller files together and P would create a ball of files in a small space and stuff. Also, AFAIK there's no such thing as a pending friend list. Lastly, you can whisper anyone (including non-friends) back while in-game but you can't initiate a conversation. Elaborate on how you would do that (you don't know whether they're online and you don't know their code, so how would b.net know which derp to message?). I think it's also Blizzard privacy policy - you can't message anyone you want and you can't check their code or e-mail to prevent abuse.

You really should stop doing that. Complaints do not (always) equal junk. Complaints a discussion can make.

I would like to remind everyone to keep the discussion civil. Personal insults are not the proper way to reply to an attempt at starting a legitimate discussion. If someone thinks a feature is not included in game, while it is, please point it out in a friendly manner, without insulting either age or intelligence.

How about no? You can't discuss something you know nothing about. It's as if I complained how bad the suspension of today's MAN trucks were. Firstly, I don't know anything about them, and secondly, what does a rant without genuine questions achieve? Apart from letting out steam, which is what SJ is for, which is why I shouldn't stop moving the endless torrent of crap to SJ.

I hope you can distinguish between a discussion and a tantrum. And from the looks of OP's stance and position regarding valid points backed up by knowledge in the topic, this thread is steering nicely towards SJ.

inside sin has a good point about the removal of perfectly fine, easily included options and statistics.
    1) More options the better. If you take away options without good reason, then wtf. I dont care if it's nitpicking, im a fking philosopher and will fight against all of this kind of bs.
    2) stats. why? yes, some ppl go "OMG MY WIN/LOSS IS 75% WHY ARENT I GOING UP?!" and removal of losses would kinda help that a lil, as well as making rank=ups slightly more mysterious and respectable. However, for the people who want to thoroughly examine, and really get involved, blizzard, why are you stopping them? Another reason to hide losses is to stop little kids from never playing again when they see evrytime they logon that they have a 1-10 win/loss ratio. thats bad too -- dont protect psyches.
    3) I agree w/ kuvasz's latest post. still, it's good to help them out in a tantrum :)

What I'm disappointed about is Blizzard's lack of high quality polish, innovation and building-up of BNet and StarCraft, especially when considering the amount of resources they had at their disposal.

I read through this entire thread and some of the things you're complaining about aren't even true... but I'm too lazy and unmotivated about the issue to go through and point out the mistakes.

    But while we're venting!

I have no problem with the mechanics and balancing of the game itself, nor do I have a problem with how the league system works. Hiding the losses actually encouraged me to play a little bit more, and no I'm not a 12 year old child, nor do I think that I'm playing against children considering the intellectual prowess high level play takes.

But I am VERY upset, and have been since SC2's inception, about how they do custom games. If I may devolve into petty insults for a moment, its completely retarded, like it was programmed by 3 year old retarded children with aspergers. Popularity as the sole filter? WHAT THE BLOODY HELL IS THAT? The lobby system worked because you could play whatever you wanted, now you have to sift through lists and lists of what other people deem good. What happens is, someone creates a good custom game or map, they upload to battlenet. What now? Nobody will know it exists! How am I supposed to check out new interesting games, or how is someone who makes a good game supposed to promote it? Its completely retarded. I'm rather sick of nexus wars and phantom mode to be honest. As someone who makes maps myself, and would like to play them with people who aren't my friends, I'm very dissatisfied.

For example, I made a keep away game, where one person has the potato, and can throw the potato to someone else. An ultralisk runs around and tries to get the potato, slowly getting faster and faster. The players also have the ability to teleport which is on cooldown. This allows people to teleport when they think a player is trying to throw a potato to them, messing up their throw, and it gets really really intense. Nobody can play my game because nobody has played my game. Explain THAT. Its like looking for a job where all jobs require experience and you've never worked before! Bloody paradoxes!

    I'm done venting now...

Don't even go there, custom game creation, lobbies and everything to do with custom games is in fact "enhanced" with a negative output for many of the users.

What ever happened to searching games that were actually BEING played at that time? Custom games are 50% of my hatred to Blizz release. Custom games starting themselves? What the **** is that ****? Not viewing anything but text on each map? Populars cramping the list?

    Kuvasz;
Starcraft 1 currently has better Communication, statistics and overall depth when in lobbies and chat. The new channel system is awful, they decided to change channels to a small *** box on the bottom right that gives you no actual "interface". I remember my favourite part in warcraft 3 was that there were options I could type from anywhere to do certain things, (and starcraft) but now this "channel" system even stops that idea.

IMO, this thread should be renamed to: Rants about GUI getting worse as it gets "better". Sure there're more friendly options for button clicking, but it's as if everything is controlled with the mouse nowadays.

First I was like, yaaaaaaeaaahahahha wooooh Starcraft 2, then I just decided it's not even being worked on like a professional game. Heroes of Newerth release patches that are SO immensely more powerful and productive than SC2's... And it's a small company versus a large company, small game versus large game.

Then I was like, well, that ****ing sucks. And went back to Heroes of Newerth.

At the moment if someone were to say, how awesome is Starcraft 2, I'd have to disagree, for such an awesome game, it is pretty badly ran. (Activision might have a presence)
Warcraft 3 and even Starcraft currently have better Battle.net 1.0's than Battle.net 2.0

Inside Sin. I propose to you a simple and elegant theory as to why SC2 GUI sux.

    People are stupid ***gots.

    Now, how does this relate?

    1) Hosts in SC1, much of the time, could not hit the go button. AFK or stupid or couldnt speak. etc.
    2) chat commands with symbols cannot be used. Because people are stupid ***gots.
    3) custom game creation. Also because people are stupid ***gots. With stupid hosts hosting games, people cant get to play (sometimes due to random banning/booting).

We've nvr had the option of viewing text on each map anyways, so that is at least something
about the chat channel, refer to "People are stupid ***gots".

I will quote some kid: "Yes, you should definitely get SC2 because its community is so great" He also said that it will live long because of its community.

If he has been online, he should know the sc2 community sux ****.
all the prove my theory correct.

    OBJECTIONS?
