Any good map makers?

Im trying to make a map that would allow me to test defenses, see how they wok. Pretty simple, block of land w/ minerals, bridge, and then the enemy base. Enemy would continually produce units, and send them every 5 minutes(or so) I started making it, and i realized i suck at triggers...

Are there any good map makers or tutorials for the original(or just any map makers on the boards) who might be able to help?

 

Ive made a few maps but I'm not a great map maker.. I know some triggers and may be able to think ways of using triggers to help with what you're doing but I wouldn't be surprised if I can't..

Its the best source for maps, templates and programs for map making (which I assume you have) and also if you want a map maker to help you out its your best bet.

 

The link to staredit is dead, i cant seem to follow it using the IE for FF rendering engines.

Is there anywhere else i might look?

In another forum I found this...
"Things have been somewhat dead around here for awhile, and the last truly active SC map making was Staredit.net and, apparently, it is no more. When I heard about it I thought "SC map making is officially dead now".
It was big news to me. I guess it's apropos though, which the announcement of SC2. There is some hope .

Ive checked the creepcolony link and its working but I believe its not as into map making as Staredit was.

 

I'm an ok map maker, I made a few cat and mouse maps and a defense map. I'm good at triggers, but not at balancing units. If you want me to work on the map send it to me at spongebob@proaxis.com .

 

Just as a side note, i SUCK at balancing, I'm usually patient but I just don't have the patience for balancing.

I am a guy who was in fiddler on the roof in a school musical. I wasn't the fiddler though, I was Mendel. Carmella was the fiddler.

We have a performance on dvd. If I can find a way, I'll post it.

I would try youtube, but it has a 10 minute limit for videos, and I don't feel like posting a 2 and a half hour play in 10 minute segments >_>.

And no, I don't do drama, but every year every class at my school does a play. I plan on doing improv in highschool though.

also, if you wanted you could take the file, compress it to .rar and then upload to yousendit.com. You might need to break it into 4 parts, but it would work

10 min limit? I've seen 25 min videos, but I guess that limit could be new or for certain members.

Umm.. I already made the map for him... You can test it if you like... But I don't think there's any problems with it...

 

yeah ok­... i just replied a bit too fast...

hmm why did you make it single player?? what about the map detects how many players there are and change the difficulty depending on how many players are playing.. this is very easy to do.

 

Bumbaloe has already finished it, if you feel you can do a better job, more power to ya. I really just wanted it to see how i could better test my defenses. what he did got the job done.

edit: i asked for it single, as i didn't want it to test skill as much as strategy. i wanted to try and make a defense that would allow me to not have to pay attention. Im going to mess with the triggers a bit to make it harder, but im only slightly modifying Bumbaloes work.
