Just wondering but is any of the current events happening now with blizzard kind of a replicant of what happend with Starcraft:Ghost. I mean the only differance is that it was a bigger announcement then Starcraft:Ghost. I am just kind of worried that now they are working on another WoW expansion it might put Starcraft 2 with Ghost in the "Indefinately postponed" kind of area. Not only that but if blizzard has turned money crazy which I hope to god they havent. It would be more prosperous to get a new WoW released rather than a Starcraft.
I sincerely doubt that we're gonna have a situation similar to Ghost with SC2, Blackskies. Blizzard knows what fanbase they have and how much ppl love it. Ghost didn't draw as large of a crowd cuz it was a 3rd person shooter so it was sort of a wild shot and didn't need to be sustained that heavily for the time being. But even IF a WC expansion might be more "prosperous" which I actually doubt, they're gain is only gonna be very short term, cuz the amount of disappointed fans they're gonna create will be a much larger set back to their overall publicity/sales. That's just my opinion, i'm no marketing guru, but I really think SC2 is just too much of a big deal to not upkeep.
if blizzard pulled a ghost with SC2, their world headquarters would be leveled within 24 hours of the announcement, with no exaggeration edit: welcome to the forums! owerup:
Well honestly look at the money coming in from WoW. From a business standpoint I'll point these few things out. 1 Blizzard makes more money from WoW than Starcraft Simply because its subsciption based. 2 Battle.net is an expensive piece of programming to take care of and it doesnt bring in an profit at all. Unlike WoW. 3. They could be using starcraft as a method of drawing people to their site and get them looking and waiting for starcraft2. But when it fails they still see WoW there and turn to it for an alternative to pass the time.
U should not be predicting Sc2 will fail on a sc2forum site. People will not like that. Also, has Blizzard ever failed in any game they have created yet? Nope. And it definitely wont happen with SC2!
The thing with SC2 is they don't really have the choice of wether to keep going or to postpone it. SC is arguably their largest game, the only reason it could be said otherwise is because there's more WC. You also have to realize that a lot of WoW fans are large SC fans as well. If they DID postpone SC....they would lose a LOT of their credibility that they have gotten over the past 20 years. On a side note, Korea would finally be united in their cause and launch an airstrike so powerful...the world would go 2 World Wars at one single moment
