  1. This game is really popular around the office. I just want to figure out what all the buzz is about.

    Where do I start.

    Thanks for having this forum.

    Jordan.

Try to get schooled by your co-workers (The people "around the office")
    Pre-order it to get your beta-key :)

The game is still in it's testing stages (beta), so the only way to play it is to pre-order it from certain video game companies (Gamestop being one). Though, the beta is ending May 31st, and the game won't be released until June 27th; so it's your call on whether to get that or not.

Watching some replays of professional players on youtube could get you into the game before you start playing. There are a lot of different commentators that broadcast matches, and you have to be picky about which ones you watch. My personal favourite is Day9. He's a very high level player himself, and really gets into the more subtle, and tactical aspects of the matches. He's also a great speaker and really funny. :)

But, perhaps someone on the forum could suggest a commentator who explains more what's going on, and how things work in the games. Because watching a replay of SC2 is just like any other game/sport you watch, it can be incredibly daunting, or simply boring, if you don't understand what's going on. I would assume you're in that boat, if you've never heard of it before, except from you co-workers. HDStarcraft and Husky are also very popular commentators, though I feel they miss too much of what's going on in the match. Hopefully some other forums members can fill you in on the rest, good luck !

Welcome to the forums JordanRHughes! My advice is to play as much as you can, the more you play the better you will get. 1 v 1 is the best way to improve in my honest opinion.

If you don't me asking, where do you work?
