Hi everybody,

despite this section is called "introduce yourself", I don't know if this is the best place to write my first posts here, as this kind of section is usually only visited by the other new members and few moderators =) ...

Well,
I am really looking forward this new version of the game, as I am a big fan of Starcraft, even if I am a bit sceptical given the fact the creative team at Blizzard left years ago, during the Vivendi acquisition (at the middle of the Warcraft III time), and I fear Blizzard just turned into another money-making machine... Well, I just would like to possibly learn more about the game here.
When Starcraft came out, I was not already really connected online, and played it mostly locally, but I then played a lot Warcraft III online:

I quitted playing years ago, when I gave this profile to a guy (Tachoron). I played around 3.500 online games and won 40% of them (mostly 3v3 RT). I gave up because I was pissed of how the online community atmosphere turned into a fragfest frenzy, with waves of mindless 12-15yo lamers shouting at you "leave noob!" "omg you noob!" since the beginning of the game. Nobody was playing the game anymore, it was just about who will leave first, and everybody endlessly talking about stats and levels and skills and blablabla...

During this time, I started an online mod project, the "Ten Races Mod":

The aim was to... enable people to enjoy ten different races when playing the game.

I love the old Blizzard games (Starcraft / Diablo / Warcraft), and believe Starcraft 2 might be a good, refreshing, and yet strongly e-sports oriented game, where it will be possible to meet thousands of more or less mature people, try various yet more or less viable strategies, and watch crazy replays of gozus! =)

I am planning to open a community website dedicated to the level-editing (the level editing tools, the resources, some tutorials, maps downloads etc).

While I don't really understand how people can discuss so much about a game that is not released yet, I think I will have some fun reading the various comments here. =)

I know, I agree, I met really nice and good youngsters in online games (WC3 and CS mostly), and annoying and bad older people. It is not a matter of being young at all, but while I am pretty sure the education and the general community/ingame atmosphere should be important in the behaviors of gamers, I unfortunately still consider the age as an important criteria when it's about to judge people I am just meeting =/ ...

Take it easy, Im sure it will turn out great. Im a youngster myself, and Im sick of all those on my age acting so bad in Warcraft/starcraft/CS (the list could go on).

i am IJffdrie, In RL i am called ramses ijff, i am a 14 year old dutch game freak, i kinda rule some parts of the forum (space junk mainly) but i dont visit the starcraft section(even though i really like SC) much

 

I am EonMaster, a pokemon eevee fanatic. I think pokemon isnt just for little kids and also still play games with my Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic: The Gathering decks.

I prefer zerg when playing seriously online, but protoss when playing for fun or UMS.

 

Im freedom23 a democrat, freelancer, and fighter... I think that a road to success is achievable by unison of perfecting the mind and body... working at a hospital, and bored ^_^

23yrs old, played broodwar since 1998 - zerg is my favorte race..

I was with a dutch housemate once, and man, your language is so hard to get, but I am learning german so it might be easier after a while =) ...

I hate pokemon, it's all about sending neutral / innocent creatures fight / get hurt for your own causes, and don't get involved beyond few cheap trainings, orders and encouragements, all about "my pokemon are better than yours, I will crush you"... really not a good educational animation for the kids in my opinion =/ ... but maybe you have another point of view about them.

I think the road to success, I would much more call "enlightment" or freedom for my part, or technically "for a more optimised life", is just to understand each other and to work together. =)

My favorite race is the one I am not playing. For some reason, everytime I play whatever race, I am like "omg, I miss so much [insert here that cool unit from another race]", and just switch and switch and switch again between the races, just to play that unit I was just missing =) ... In addition, the "random" race is a kind of counter-measure against players heavily relying on early rushes.

 

Qwaa! Hi I'm KuraiKozo, a chat dweller! I'm uber obsessed with drawing, and typing, and writing so most of the time I'm doing that. I don't play SC much because I just got it about a month ago and I really suck. I can't even last a few minutes agaisnt anyone. But I'm almost always in the chat when I'm awake. Eon is my RL brother, and I'm one of the only girls on this site =3

 

It does not affect you posting abbilities etc.
Its only there for showing which members that are repsected / have posted alot.
