Well, it seems like I am above the requirements for running SC2 on my laptop, but it is completely unplayable even on the lowest settings. Any tips for me or should I just give up?

    Here are my specs:
    Nvidia GeForce 8400m gs
    Intel Core duo T5550 @ 1.83 GHz 1.83 GHz
    3 GB Ram
    Windows rating of 3.2...

Any help would be appreciated :)

Something else at play here cause what you have there shouldn't be keeping you from playing.

What resolution? Try using the lowest available. Anti-virus off? On a GS45 (mobile G45), I've been able to get ~12 fps on the early campaigns (and I do mean early - Liberation Day and The Outlaws). Not particularly smooth but it was enough to be playable for me. Your mobile GPU is pretty weak and is only a step above the mine. If you're picky and require higher than 15fps, then you're going to need to get better hardware.

To run dxdiag=> Windows_logo_key+r, dxdiag. If you have 64-bit windows, click the button at the button that says "Run 64-bit DxDiag," Then save all the data by clicking "Save All Information..." zip/rar the text file and attach it to the post. Instructions on how to zip here. To create a rar file, first download and install winRAR then read this guide here.

We'll see what your drivers are like, but other then that, rui may be right about the performance. Let's find out your system details usind dxdiag and we'll see what we can do from there.

Thanks for the replies. I will try what you all have already said and as requested here is the zipped dxdiag file.

Well, you have a sound driver that is three years newer you can try from Realtek.

I don't know if that will help you. You may be SOL. I don't know what else you have running on your machine, but maybe try defragging with PerfectDisk and turn off any non necessary applications (meaning, everything but a virus scanner).

Hell, what virus scanner are you using?
