First, post what information you can about your computer:

Laptop or Desktop? (If laptop, what Make and model)
Operating System (Windows XP, Vista, 7, 32/64-bit, MacOSX 10.xx)
    CPU
Power Supply Unit (PSU, if you know what it is)
    RAM Make, model, speed, amount
Motherboard Make and Model (if you are aware of what it is)
Harddrive Make, Model, RPM Speed, and cache amount (if you are aware of what it is)
    Video Card Make and Model

(Try to answer as much of this as you possibly can. That gives us a baseline on what may be wrong.)

You are clicking the icon to start StarCraft II then it crashes? If it doesn't give a more specific error, we'll have to start with your system configuration and go from there.

You may not have enough ram to start StarCraft II. It requires at least 1GB installed. Also, you simply stated what verison of DirectX you are running, do you know what kind of onboard video you have? Such as Intel, nVidia, ATI, SiS, Matrox?

Also, your CPU falls under the minimum spec, which is a 2.6Gz Pentium 4.

Try using Can You Run It? to get a better idea of what your system is lacking.

try running dxdiag.exe (press windowslogokey+r to bring up run if you don't know how).

Either take a screen shot or type everything is says for information in the first screen. Then in the display tab type the name, manufacturer, and type (or another screen shot).

Sounds like a video driver isn't installed at all. O_O; Not good. Go to Windows Update.com using Internet Explorer and just start downloading critical system updates.

If you says you need to install Service Pack 3, do it!
After that, if it tells you to install Internet Explorer 8, do that as well!! Even if you don't use Internet Explorer as your web browser, you should always keep it up-to-date.
THEN after those two are done, download any other critical system updates!

Windows Update may also recommend an "optional" video driver to install. If it does, install it, then you will know what graphics card you are running. I would recommend installing ANY optional drivers recommended just to figure out what hardware you are running.

If you need a virus scanner, install Microsoft Security Essentials. It is an awesome freeware virus scanner.

Your machine's software may be extremely outdated, so it is important to take the time to try and update it, regardless if we can get StarCraft II running.. which I am sad to say, is extremely unlikely. Please let me know how things go.
