I've installed Starcraft 2. When I try to launch it there is a screen with a box in the top left that simply states 'updating'. Below this are patch notes. I simply want to play the game I bought. Do I need to wait for this 'updating' to finish? Thanks for any help
Yeah, if the game doesn't patch, then you won't be able to log into battle.net, which you need to be able to do to play single player. Now, is the patch downloading or is it staying at 0%?
Thanks for the replies. There is no % and it doesn't indicate that any patch is downloading. There is simply a list of info under the 'patch notes' bug fixes and other info. The top left of the screen, opposite the blue box that says 'updating', is an empty orange box. At the bottom left is a sort of misted out play button that won't work. So I just wait? My internet connection isn't that slow, but it's been hours!
It probably tilted. It happened to me once. Close and re-open. If the problem persists reinstall or call blizz.
that long? that does seem a bit weird. i've never had an update take more than 10 minutes to download + install.
The patcher simply isn't connecting. Are you behind a router or on a collage campus? If you are simply behind a router you can follow my FAQ to forward your ports on the router. If you are a collage campus network, you may be screwed since Bittorrent ports are usually blocked.
