"All In" last mission HELP!

  1. So, after many failed atempts to complete this mission, I saw a Youtube video of someone beating it using the Psi Disruptors that slow the zerg enemy.........I chose the other research thing to turn Zerg into Terran forces......I'm really having alot of difficulty beating this mission...advice please?

and why is kerrigan like 3 times the size of a rine?!

Are you doing it on Normal or Hard difficulty? Which mission did you complete beforehand - Shatter the Sky or Belly of the Beast?

When I did it on Normal (having done Shatter the Sky previously) I made a solid wall of alternating Bunkers (with Shrike Turrets) and Perdition Turrets across the the two choke points. I manned each bunker with 4 marines and a Marauder, placed Psi Disruptors at each end of my "wall" then deployed three or four Siege Tanks near said Psi Disruptors. I opted for as many Battlecruisers as I could afford after that, though in retrospect Banshees and a few Vikings probaby would've done the job better. Also worth noting is that I went with the Vanadium Armor research instead of Ultra Capacitors. Faster attack rates are nice, but extra hit points are invaluable in my opinion.

I did it no normal and found the mission kinda anti climatic as it was way to easy..

I cleared the sky in the previus mission, so had no air attack.

Just get SG in the back and on the clifs, have bunkers and "tanks in front.. Make 2-3 SCV patrols behinde the bunker, so they auto repair..

i did 3 bunkers on each side, plenty of seige tanks, and a couple of scvs dedicated to repairing. also, i kept half my army as a "mobile" army (2 mobile armies, actually, one infantry and one viking/banshee) that took care of nydus worms and other "pop-up" threats, as well as helping out whichever side seemed to be suffering more. i also took the mind control tower but ended up not using it much. i just killed everything.

also, keep a bunch of SCVs around to keep rebuilding missile turrets.

Hard on that mission is REALLY hard, so don't feel bad if you have to crank it down to normal.

I had the technology that mind-control'd zerg and was facing air (no nydus worms). I made the mind-control towers early on on the high ground by the thing we had to protect. I put all of them on a hotkey (like 2) and used the mind-control hotkey (c) to make grabbing units faster.

Every time a mutalisk, brood-lord, or even roach came by I would hit 2, C, and click on them. I ended up grabbing lots of mutalisks and brood lords. The computer doesn't react well against brood lords and it really really helped me win.

Keep your battle cruisers back when kerrigan comes. let her use her little lift thingy on your tanks. of which you should have like 8 at each enterance. once shes fighting bring up the cruisers and hit her with yamato cannons. ALSO save your uh... artifact burst thing (cant remember the name) for when she comes. i cant say if it damages her or not. but it stops all the little zerg from getting in through the whole she will inevitably make.

I can help help its simple.

    1. Upgrade all banshee upgrades.(and i'll tell you why in a second)

    2. Get The turrent ontop of the Bunker, Get the auto repair when building are burning and And the buildable flame turrents!!!!
(the auto repair saves buildings mainly ur wall, and get SCV super repair

    3. PLZ PLZ PLZ! get psi disrupters and Instand SUpply Depots. if you dont JUST STOP TRYING period. and of story!

    4. The mission before the last mission -CHOOSE SHATTER THE SKY and remove ALL the air forces for the last match-

    5. WALL OFF AND SPAM FIREBATS AND TANKS

    6. LAST! and the most important! this is how to beat the mission! given that you beat shatter the sky mission you wil have to fight off orange and purple! BUT what you my not know is Orange is SPawning from the WOrm heads ONLY!!!! remeber when i said upgrade all your banshee upgrades. Make banshees once you have properly walled off and send them to spine out the Nydus worm heads that spawn and that WILL supress Orange. ALso use them to attack karragen when she reaches the wall of your base.

*(NOTE)* Karragen CAN see clocked units DO NOT think your banshees alone can take her on. I found out the hard way that **** doesnt work. Just wait for her to focus on other **** like tanks in the base.

*(AND)* dont forget to use ur mercs. Put all warpigs in BUNKERS! and put put the siege breakers on HIGH GROUND.

I just lined all the cliffs with siege tanks. Your only problem then is kerrigan, she will destroy 3-6 of your tanks every time she spawns, but just get more.

If you did Shatter The Sky as your previous mission it's really easy. Just mass tanks and bunkers, after a while you will have so many that the zerg waves don't even get to attack before they die.

Terrans are kings at ground defence.

Don't bother to defend both side at the same time. I just massed tank behind the artifact. Just line them to be able to shot both side (3 lines horizontal and 3 lines vertical). Well don't stop making those and don't stop making marines but let them behind your tank.

When kerigan's coming, use the artefact, bring your marine with stim and focus fire her. It's very easy. Then bring them back behind your tank line and you can maybe use 2-3 medic tu heal them before she come back.

Here's a video that I used to give me an idea on how to do it easy way:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8CnijiPKBno

Just mimic that and you will find you with 200/200 units and nothing left to do then looking at your defense destroying everything and making marines+tank when some die.

    GL with that.

    My strategy on brutal

I played on brutal not sure what difficulty you played it on. Anyway I was vs the air units. All I did was mass bunkers and marines, constantly upgraded. Built 8 barracks almost right away, two more starports all building with reactors, I didn't get the last protoss upgrade : ( Put flame turrets everywhere in your base because near the end I always seemed to get overunned. Be sure to mass vikings to deal with brood lords and build at least 20 before that big fat flying thing attacks. Also wait until karrigan attacks to use the artifact., then mass marines to take her out quickly. Near the end (93%) I sent all my units that were left to defend the artifact and workers lol and waited until 99% to use the artifact which cleared out the insane amount of units.

Yeah I can't seem to get past this. I've tried it about fifteen times on hard. I usually put up as many of the flame towers as I can(about 5 on one side, 3 on the other) and 3 bunkers on each side, I use the mind control tower to take the ultralisks, and then I can usually build about 5 battle cruisers at most and 10 banshees to take out nydus worms, plus upgrades. And then there's enough resources and time to get about 6 tanks on either side, before kerrigan takes out about 4 on one side.

I can handle the attacks fine, and barely need the artifact, but then kerrigan comes and that's it, I yamato her with every battlecruiser but usually lose half the battlecruisers and then the psionic storm completely takes out the defense. Even if I use the artifact then, the next wave of zerg comes before I can rebuild.

The banshees I can't build fast enough. Even if I avoid kerrigan with them, they get whittled down by spore colonies and hydralisks trying to get to the nydus worms.

And then besides all this, if I build too many scvs for minerals, there's not enough gas to build anything but marines.

I just don't see how this is possible. Maybe I chose the wrong story upgrades or something but, that psi storm is just too deadly and there aren't enough resources besides. I've tried 2 barracks, 3 starports, 2 factorys, and also 3 factorys, 2 starports.

I think the 2nd or third time I tried it, I got it to 99%, but now I can't get above 60%. Its like I'm playing worse and worse, I'm so sick of it. I don't know how people can claim its easy.

Edit: I tried the 8 barracks thing that someone said they tried for Brutal. It failed miserably on hard. Even with tons of scvs and constantly building marines on all 8 barracks, and medivacs on two starports ... I just don't believe this is possible. The stimpack does work well on kerrigan but than I can't hold back the other zerg at all.

Less Battlecruisers, more banshees and Science Vessel (If you have them) - Kerrigan is going to inst-kill Factory/Starport units no matter what if you're using them to attack her. You're better off attacking her with cheaper units like Medics, Marines, Seige Tanks, Banshees, and Science Vessels... When you have Medic and Marines you have to micro them away from her storm attack, and when you fight her with mech/air - you just have to accept that some of them are going to die.

If I remember right, I went with 4 Barracks with Reactors pushing out Medics and Marines, 2 Starports with Tech Labs pushing out Banshees and Science Vessels (Irradiate and Repair are very helpful), and 1 Factory with a Tech Lab pushing out Siege Tanks (Tech Reactors would be nicer if you got the Protoss Research).

Instead of Bunkers/Flame Towers, I just got a Supply Depot wall because they're much easier to remake- especially when Kerrigan continuously breaks through it. And instead of using Medivacs to heal, use Medics since Medivacs are more expensive and tend to die more easily (since they can't heal each other like medics can).

There's a save function - and an autosave function... Use it if you need to. It'll spare you a bit of frustration. And since you picked nydus worms- it'll also allow you to set your banshees up before the worms come out of the ground.

If you beat Shatter the sky, there is a very cheap way to ensure victory: get two planetary fotresses on each side, with 8 SCVs on each side to repair, add 4 siege tanks up on the ledge on each side, and two groups of 8 banshees to hunt down worms, and you pretty much auto win.

Oh and science vessels suck really hard. For their cost, they don't heal enough hp per energy to be of any use. Hopefully you are fortunate enough to have picked ravens.

I'm just about to call it quits with this. The only thing I haven't tried is a wall of command centers, I don't have planetary fortress upgrade, I don't have science vessels.

I finally broke down and watched the youtube brutal and I find out he has slow towers and the gas upgrade and the thing to build tanks twice as fast.

I just don't think its possible with the upgrades I've gotten, even just on hard.

Edit: Finally beat this on hard after like 30 or so tries at least. I didn't do anything really differently the last time. No medivacs, and some more medics and more bunkers, that was about it. Didn't worry about killing the worms too much.
