Have you all noticed how air units are retarded to control? Thats because their shadow follows youre mouse which means the unit model is seperate from where the unit really is. This makes it harder to micro with air units and how come its like this in all 3d RTS games, i think the unit's model should follow the mouse and not the shadow, shadows are meant for decorative purposes
This topic is about air units while the other one is about qq over life not being fair. On-topic: Air units are fine once you get used to them.
I still miss the muta micro stack abuse, bit I'm not a zerg players, so that's just a benefit Besides stacking 20 mutas, it makes it unfair because you can't select the hurt mutas.. The air micro per se is nice and dandy.
obviously you understand what they are about, why is different title needed its my writing i do what ever i damn want with it.
the title should be about what the statement/arguement is about. My first thought when I saw two with the same title was that you accidentally made the same topic twice. I personally rarely used air units in SC1, so I've never noticed that it follows the shadows.
When you right-click with the mouse you give the plot of land the air unit should fly over to. So in the end it's above it, and you're viewing the game from a tilted angle so it makes perfect sense that the unit itself is "somewhere else". In fact even the shadow should not end up where you clicked because the light source is probably not directly above the unit.
Yes but even as it makes sense its kinda clumsy to control them and lets say youre air unit shadow is over youre ground forces it really would be hard to tell where the unit is really is.
