this is something i read on Wikipedia and thought it was kinda interesting if u dont wanna read it all the only part that i found odd was the last few sentences that start with ''Adun's actions'' Adun was a Protoss character in the fictional StarCraft universe. Very little is known about Adun, but the Protoss, especially the Templar Caste, revere him as a hero and even a demigod. As the Aeon of Strife ended among the Protoss, The Khala was imposed on the entire race in an effort to prevent a return to the strife. However, a number of Protoss, fearful of the effects of the Khala, lived in secret on Aiur as rogue tribes, unknown to the majority of the Protoss. Only the Conclave knew of their existence. Adun, an idealistic young warrior, was ordered by the Conclave to eradicate this threat, for reasons unknown. When Adun discovered these Rogue Tribes, however, he did not execute his orders. Instead, he tried to teach them how to use psionics without using the Khala. He hoped they would realize the folly in their resistance and link their minds. While he did successfully teach them how to hide themselves from the Conclave, his efforts to teach them the secrets of the psionic storm failed. Without the discipline of the Khala, their storms raged all over Aiur, alerting other Protoss of their existence. The barely reunited tribes began to fight once more. Old vendettas and ancient prejudices were reborn as the Protoss who refused the way of Khala were branded as traitors and hunted down. Eventually the Conclave devised a way to impose order on the Protoss once more. The Rogue Tribes were secretly placed on board a Xel'Naga freighter and exiled from Aiur. Their fate was kept a secret from the other Protoss. Eventually they became known, in legend, as the Dark Templar. Raszagal, an old Protoss, was the only Dark Templar old enough to remember the exile, which caused much bitterness among her people. Adun's actions afterwards are unknown. However, at one point he fought with a Protoss named Taldarin, who claimed to have fought alongside Adun three thousand years ago, long before the incident with the Dark Templar. This raises some question about the historical accuracy afforded to either incident, as it is impossible for Adun to have lived so long. The intersting part is that its said that he fought along side him Four 3 millenia but Protoss dont live that long they can live up to 1000 if they are lucky, but mayb the Xel'naga live even longer than the protoss? So mayb these two protoss wernt protoss but Xel'Naga maybe the templar caste new this and thats why they rever them so much? Maybe these 2 are still alive but living in secretcy or something maybe they were sent by the Xel'Naga to be scouts or spys on the protoss because the Xele'naga are probbally curius about the protoss the Xel'naga bascally created them ???
interasting theory, it would make sence because Protoss though of Adun an a demigod, so this might be the reason why. But Adun might also been a healthy young templar that was eating healthing, with lots of neutriants so maybe thats why he lived so long! Or He, like Taldarin whas turned into dragoon after they died and fought for couple more milenia.
I'd really like to read a book on the history of the SC universe. I dunno why but after playing the game so much I think i'd enjoy it.
Hmmm...that could be. Why do the Zealots say "for adun!" even before you take down the Conclave then? Wouldn't the conclave hate Adun for the same reason they hated Tassadar?
adun is a folk hero, there's no way the conclave could squash that out, better to make him seem a champion of the conclave
blizzard just got fkd up the dates in the extra mission, i dont think they were trying to hint at either being Xel
Something that may point out that Adun is not a Xel'Naga but rather a creation of the Xel'Naga (Protoss): The Xel'Naga were already far along the lines of age and technology. It should also be noted that Taldarin was placed in suspended animation after being crippled in battle and was re-awakened to become one of the first dragoon units. Perhaps Adun may have been placed in stasis as well, as it says "Adun's actions afterwards are unknown".
