With add-ons being interchangeable and all, I was thinking it'd be neat to allow the main building to attach reactors and tech labs. The hassle of placing a building at an expansion, building the add-on, lifting up, then placing the command centre would pay back because of the unique benefits. Command centre Reactor: creates two production queues Tech lab: +10hp upgrade for SCV for 100/100 Orbital command Reactor: doubles energy regeneration rate Tech lab: ability to call down mules to harvest gas Planetary fortress Reactor: +2 range Tech lab: ability to attack air Just the thought of an add-on that you can't directly build sounds fun. And thanks to the improved pathfinding, they probably wouldn't hinder your income. They'd probably become prime targets for an attack but hey, you could enjoy the benefits until then of course these benefits are just examples but they were sparked because I would welcome more upgrades in the game (even 4 levels of armour and weapons).
Yeah, every extra choice you can make is a buff. But the idea sounds nice, so i voted yes What should be the pendant for Protoss and Zerg, if terran should get this? Would like to hear some ideas on that.
Too complicated for multiplayer especially if all the other races got stuff lumped on them to balance it but extending on the reactor research for the CC in singleplayer would be cool
I think its an alright idea, but double production on a command center... You'd see people lifting off their original command center to place a reactor with their barracks... Then you'd have Terran on crack with the double production... But then also i suppose that if they wanted to keep that they'd have to go without scanner sweep or mules.
