So I've noticed you can answer a few questions on battle.net again. This time about questions regarding how much you use the party system, what games you play (1v1, custom, etc.), and the question that caught my eye; are the achievements hard or easy to get? Now, I'm just curious, they are not seriously thinking about having so little achievements or only those achievements at release? There was a website where you could make your own achievements, will we see achives like those? Because for some that would make the games more interesting as now, you're required to use unit X in a ladder game.
I'm sure they will have more for the release.. theres only like 30 isn't there? If that? And they are all basicly win X 1on1, 2on2 matches with X race/random. So I'm sure it will be a lot like WoW where they add new ones and to win certain matches in X amount of time and such like that.
screw achievements. they're like participation ribbons given to people for trying pointless things. i can't believe people actually attempt to get them, unless there's some bigger prize involved (like weapon unlocks in Team Fortress 2).
Weapon unlocks and stuff like that would be unbalanced. Achievements are just cool little things. If you don't like them, it's no big deal. It's not like you have to use the new portraits.
This is why I like playing WoW even when I'm not raiding/questing on new content. When you're getting bored with the game, you can go for a few achievements by doing weird stuff. I like that. Why wouldn't this work for Starcraft 2 as well? If you want an extra challenge because you're getting bored, or for whatever reason you can think of, then you can do a few achievements. I don't see why people would criticize this. Players with achievement don't gain any kind of advantage over players without them, so you're in no way forced to get them, or even give a **** about others having them.
