Played a guy yesterday who tried to cannon rush me. I scouted his base and saw nothing but a forge and knew what to expect - and a few seconds later I saw a blue spot in my base on the minimap. He had built a pylon and the spot I was seeing was the cannon. Rushed my scvs there and killied it off. Of course I won then. But suddenly he wrote "nice cheat matey - enjoy the ban" and I sent a ":)".

But I hadn't cheated at all. After the game I whispered him "thx for the points, bro" and he answered that he had sent the "scan report" to blizz and that they would ban me. Now I don't know what a scan report is and I wonder if anything could go wrong for me that I would be banned. If you watch my replay you see that I am not even once looking to the place where the pylon is and which I am not supposed to see. Can anything happen to me?

Of course not. He just worded it nicely and achieved what he wanted - for you to feel threatened. Rule of thumb: you have no reason to feel guilty or in danger if you know you didn't do anything wrong.

Basically he just wanted some form of revenge for his defeat.

Thank you! I was just wondering because apparently blizz is banning people if they cheat and even in this forum someone exposed a cheater and said he would send the replay (?) to blizz. I wondered if it might happen that blizz doesn't realise that I legitimately saw the cannon (and they also think I cheated); and when he accused me I ":)" instead of denying it, so I thought, blizz could come to the wrong conclusion. And apparently he didn't realise he had built his cannon an inch too close to my base so I could spot it on the minimap but seriously thought I had cheated. But of course you are right, they wouldn't ban someone w/o 100% proof.

If someone says that tell them to watch the replay...pretty obvious if your hacking or not, ignore them after saying this.

Lol, I know that. I was referring to marinefreak and makeahole because I had already thanked kuvasz. But then I didn't want him to feel excluded so I put "all three" in brackets. But thanks for the lesson anyway. :)
