Well I got SC2 recently and played through the trial with one of the crashes below. I think this should be all of the information needed to diagnose up front. The attachment contains both the full error from SC2 and the dxdiag log. I may need to update my MB bios but Asus site has been down for at least an hour now so I want to be proactive during that time. Thanks for the help in advance, I really appreciate it :D

    Notes

    - Bought full retail and did a full reinstall in an effort to fix the problem.
    - Still occurs about once every couple of hours or so
    - Occurs mid game not during cut scenes
    - Ran 7 passes of memtest86+ and got no errors

    Specs

    - ASUS MAXIMUS FORMULA LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard
    - Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz
    - 2 x SAPPHIRE 100225L Radeon HD 3870 512MB 256-bit
    - OCZ Platinum Edition 4GB (2 x 2GB)
    - CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W
    - Tuniq Tower 120 Universal CPU Cooler
    - Pioneer 20X DVD±R DVD
    - Western Digital Caviar Blue WD2500AAKS 250GB

Well it looks like I have the most uptodate manufacturer bios (1403). I also ran memtest on each stick. 7 passes on stick 1. 14 passes on stick 2 with no errors. Any thoughts?

Have you made any changes before the crash, eg updated graphics driver, installed new program, etc?

Not particularly. I mean I updated my video drivers about a month prior to buying the game but it has happened for the past week (since I bought it).

Try disabling one of your vid cards. When SCII first came out, it didn't like dual setups, still might not, even now.

T2P, I'm getting the exact same error as you. Arrrgh, fear I may have to reinstall everything.

    T2P,

Did you run the memtest on each stick while only ONE was plugged into the board? If you have both plugged in you can run false passes.

After that I would try a registry fix, but if SC2 is the only application causing the issue....

    Any other games doing it?
