Hey, i came to know this community for the worst reasons, as this is my first post on these forums, I hope you guys can help me.

Im getting this error when trying to run SC2:

and so on.. i got the full .txt if its needed.

After alot, and i really mean ALOT of research i found out that a similar problem is caused, or was caused seeing that it appears to been addressed in the recent patch, when some1 lost connection to the game.

But in my case i can't even see the login screen, the load finishes and after 20 seconds of freeze, bam this shows up.

The past days it was nonstop mixing with everything that could be causing this, updated and downgraded drivers, installed it in the recommended folder, installed in another fresh XP dualbooting, installed and updated it over 10 times.

But whenever it was updating i noticed some errors just popping out and fading right away, so fast that i couldnt even take a glance at them.

I searched the logs and this popped up during updating:

    Assert.log :

Hope someone could help me out with this, seeing that it, as far as i researched, wasn't reported by any1 so far.

    Thank you.

    EDIT:

Im using Windows XP SP3 fully updated, no antivirus nor firewall were running during the time i was installing, updating and trying to login.

My laptop( FujitsuSiemens Esprimo V5515) specs:

    Intel Dual Core 1.86Ghz
    2GB Ram
    SiS672 Graphics 256mb running 1280x800 resolution

Could this error be because of the crappy specs? cause it runs WoW pretty smoothly.

Yes exactly, Blizzard would love that information. As they can dechiper that geek speak your computer spat at you can use it to improve SC2 for us all.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the game.
Also see if it runs on a newer operating system, I use Windows 7 and the game works fine.

If all else fails contact Blizzard Technical Support

Thanks for all the answers, and I've reinstalled the game over 10 times.

Also i followed your advice and sent a web form to blizzard tech support.

But yea the last resort is really trying to get another Windows.

It looks like the game is not compatible with your CPU. Which is strange because I do believe I have seen people run the game on similar(if not the same) CPU. It also begs the question of why is it getting caught at the updater. At a glance it's either OS or CPU in my opinion though. I am very curious to know though, so if you figure it out or get any new information please post it.

Will do, awaiting Blizzards response to my tech support web form.

Here is Blizzards response as requested:

Tried everything above, nothing seem to work and none of the tests suggested by Blizzard got any errors, so apparently its just because my computer is the complete ****.

    Sucks..
