I found this idea on the SC2 general discussion forum and thought it would
be interesting to hear what you think about it.

"I want the ability to take music files and load them into Starcraft so it automatically plays the various songs I load in. Now that would be fun."

    I want it, do You?

Want check the original thread where the idea belongs from?
    check this link then: http://www.battle.net/forums/thread.aspx?fn=sc2-general&t=146050&p=1&#post146050

Its fun and useful. The only problem is dealing with overzealous map makers (your a cartographer, not a DJ), and their 30 minute map downloads.

    Doesn't really matter to me.

Blizzard musicis generally good. I a actually hoping SC2 will have all of the original tracks with some new ones being added on.

It does not really effect me that much i like the starcraft music and would rather listen to the Ambience and whatnot, but one thing that always got my is how the Terrans get some sweet background music it just seems like the Zerg and Protoss dont.

Or you could just have Winamp or Windows Media Player open also, playing your songs, and not make more work for the devs and a bigger and more resource needy sequel.

Unless you're running SC2 on low settings on crappy comp and any background prog would slow it down even further.
I'd rather listen to original music while playing SC2 normaly (it WILL be good, right?), but it would be useful for UMS

Most of the music in RTS games sucks anyway, just turn on your radio and turn of the music in the games...

The only music that still has "it" and wants to make me listen is the music from Warcraft 3, so if Blizzard does a good job on the Starcraft 2 music to, I don't care. Then it's good enough on it's own. However, for custom scenarios... That's kinda interesting, but it's like Shadowdragon already pointed out: that would result in far to large maps to download.

That's the point, they would be large :(
Though it was fun, for instance on some hero arena maps when duels start a piece of Mortal Kombat theme would play

couldn't you do that in wc3 editor already? I don't think they would remove that feature

It was ages ago so I don't remember how, but I got the song from FT ending (Power of the Horde) through editor

kinda like the universe at war music

sorry if this has already be mentioned
i think that you should be able to play the music from iTunes/WMP/w/e through SC2
    that would be fun

What is so hard about playing music from a dedicated media player in another window and muting the game's music?
