Maybe because it uses so much little images for all of those frames and borders. You should use those tweaks in that topic about speeding up firefox. They allow your browser to load much more at the same time, so all off those images can be loaded at the same time because it does not have to stop at a certain limit. I have set that maxconnection option to 150 and the site loads instantly.
Lol, I just remembered that was your own topic. Maybe the server is just really busy. If I remember correctly, the server that hosts this site was never intended to host forums. The good thing was that you can upload anything you want to it, including forum stuff, not only regular html pages, which drain almost no server power.
Probably just a high-traffic period. The forums have actually been streamlined, so they're smaller than they were before.
Because you don't see the extra "content" at once. The images that are loaded on each page have been streamlined and the new black layout makes it smaller.
That makes a lot of sense, but I never have any problems loading this site. It is never slow. At the most a bit of "lag" when there are a lot of animations on a page and the forum is really crowded. But your signature used to slow the loading of pages down at my pc, now it doesn't cause any trouble anymore. Have you removed some frames, or is that because of the changes in the site?
I had trouble yesterday. There were a hundred people on simultaneously so that could have been the problem. I think its time to upgrade the servers again
