A little OT but having trouble with SCBW colours on windows 7.

It's a well known problem with windows 7(or new graphics cards? dunno which) that make SC1 show weird graphics on the menus and water. Anyone of you encountered a solution to that anywhere, cause I'm searching and can't really find any reliable remedy, or at least one that worked...

Simple fix, but don't expect alt+tabbing to be fun at all.

The color issue is caused by explore.exe (aka the start button and task bar). This is the standard way of solving the problem.

Create a txt file but rename it StarCrartStart.cmd (meaning you must change the file exertion). Right click on it after making it, and select "edit"

Put this into the file:

taskkill /f /IM explorer.exe
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Starcraft\StarCraft.exe"
start explorer.exe

Save the file and everytime you run it, it will kill explorer.exe, run StarCraft, and when you are done playing, it will restart explorer.exe. There is another method you can try, but this one works 100% of the time on all Win 7 (32/64) configurations.

Did you download SCBW from bizzard (a benefit of adding the SC product key to your battle.net account, like you did with StarCraft 2) or buy it? If you bought it you can make the game not require the game disc. Follow the official Blizzard instructions after patching to the newest patch (They are somewhere in those patch notes).
