Well, my school laptop cannot run Star Craft 2 and I've been waiting ever so anxiously for this game for "years" (months); je ne suis pas content. I realize I could probably make a fairly decent computer cheaply if I built it myself, but I've never tinkered with a computer in my life, like seriously. So are there any "stock" PCs that can run Starcraft 2 for <$450ish? And no, I'm not expecting to play the game on the highest settings; I just want to play kind of smoothly on low settings. -Thanks,
You definitely will want to run sc2 on med settings not low, there is a HUGE dramatic difference, looks like cartoon vs 3d I tried putting together a decent budget system but even at that it comes to about $550. A good budget system can run sc2 on ultra and can handle 4v4 matches costing about $600 range, this is probably the range you wanna go for. Do you have ne spare computer parts and if so how old or what are they, you can try reusing some parts and upgrading over time where you need it. recommended is a dualcore 2.6 cpu, a min of 2gb of ram, and a decent video card a geforce 450 can run it on ultra with good fps. with these things in mind, you may want to just budget n save for a proper system, seeing its not goignt o cost you that much more.

My sister just got a niffty little laptop, but I haven't tested StarCraft II on it. I speced a machine for around $688 that really REALLY kicks butt (vs the one posted here), but I don't want to post it until after its built.
