    Hi there!

So i hadn't lots of time lately to play SC2 and got a little bit rusty. But i knew i needed some practice so i started with 2 1v1 which i both lost (against protoss cheese). Then, i decided that i do not want my rating to go to the bottom and started a 2v2. But i don't have any friends (you have 0 friends) in SC2 (sometimes not even in RL ;) ) and had to play random. I came out with a Terran player against a Zerg and a Terran - that made a PT v TZ matchup.

First placement, noob players! I play Gold, my teammate played Copper, so did the Zerg and the enemy Terran played his FIRST MATCH EVER! What really annoys me is that my mate played passive, the only good thing was that he took the towers for more sight! I build up my army against an attack, nothing came. I went for my natural. I kept building my army and went against the enemy. They both turteled (even the Zerg did nothing then keeping his Roaches burried at the ramp). So i kept building up my Army, added LOTS (and i meand lots, something about 4-6) of Collossi and went against the zerg first. Thats when all got active. I went to win the battle (even though the Terran player came with his kind of "support" - 5 Units in waves  ) and my mate realized we were going to win, so he came with 5 units of his own. Zerg rage-quited and i summond my troops back in the mid of the field. He did the same and it seemed as if he was only waiting for me to attack. I got into the terran base from behind (since he only defended his ramp i used blink with help of my observer to reach the high ground) and raped him. My Terran mate was too stupid to realize that there were STILL the Siege tanks as defense so i started attacking them. Soon the enemy terran quit, too, and "we" (though it more felt as "I") won.

Now, what are your experiences in "Random-Team-Play" and how did you find your friends to play with! I REALLY NEED SOMEBODY!!!!

I just pick up friends as I go along. My main method of getting friends in SC2 seems to be a snowball effect of arranged team 4v4. I knew one guy who liked doing 4v4, so I joined up with him and a few of his friends, so I added his friends. This happened a few more times with each of them and it just keeps snowballing into a bigger friends list. Another good way to start off is to just add people in forums if they have their details in their sig or something like that.

In response to experiences in random, I generally find everything to be ok, although usually when I say random, it often means half random, because I end up having maybe 2 or 3 players in a team and we'll go do some 3v3 or 4v4 or something. I think I'm one of the luckier SC2 players in terms of random anyway. I usually end up getting placed and put against people of my level.

My advice would just be to get some people on your friends list and try and let it get into that snowballing scenario. Before you know it you'll always have a bunch of friends online at any time.

    I agree...

I play a lot of randoms.

The only way to win is to tell your partner, hey, do this, now. And if they do it, and the other guys don't catch on to what the two of you are planning, you might just win.

And yeah, find someone you like from 2v2 and partner up.
