I have two builds planned, mostly for HTPC use, but I thought it might be nice to be able to use them for some gaming on the HDTV, too.

    Intel Core i3-530 2.93GHz
    GeForce GT 240 512MB GDDR5

    AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 2.8GHz
    Radeon HD 5670 512MB GDDR5

The graphics cards were chosen because of low power consumption. The gaming resolution for the GT 240 is 1920x1080 while the HD 5670 is 1680x1050. I'd prefer if both are capable of 1080p.

Do you guys think the above specs are enough for 1080p? What settings do you think the above systems will be able to handle at the given resolution? I don't really need to max out the eye candy but it would be nice to have some.

    Thanks!

Thanks. I only skimmed through that post very briefly earlier. I guess that answers my question with regards to the processors and the HD 5670.

From Legion Hardware's review, the GT 240 is faster in SC2 than the HD 5670 so it seems I can expect pretty decent performance from the above at high to ultra settings. It's really nice not needing to buy $300+ graphics cards to play a game at fairly high settings.
